The priest walks up to his pulpit without nary a sound.
Save for a lone chamilo, property of the deceased, the pews were completely empty.
He had expected this.
They were not someone anyone would miss.
A person easily described as selfish, condescending, and evil.
Yet still, even the blackest souls deserve a word.
And so he preached to that lone chamilo despite its empty eyes.
He spoke of their kind last deeds, something many had taken as the simple deathbed regrets of a dying, old woman.
He spoke of how cruel life had been to her, all the while not forgetting how cruel she herself had been to others.
He shed a tear in the lacking honor of someone who had nothing left for her in this world.
Rest in peace, sweet bastard.
