One could be forgiven for panicking upon seeing EmberSpark, assuming a fire had gotten out of control for naught but a minute, for she is a dazzling sight to behold. The ancient lucevian's fur seems to almost light the air around her, having such a vibrant hue of reds and oranges, as if her fur, itself, wishes to set the moth ablaze and attract attention. From her antennae to her feet-tips she mimics a raging fire, with her exposed exoskeleton carrying a purple hue, similar to the center of a powerful blue flame, with a darker, crispy hue on her mouth parts. Her eyes, on the other hand, hold a dull hue to them, slightly clouded over, a bit more than a normal lucevian's would be.
Despite her age, EmberSpark appears fit and well cared for, though anything she wears is in some form of disrepair. Every article of clothing, though she mostly wears free flowing robes, has a burnt texture to them, the ends having been set ablaze at one point or another. One can even find her trailing a plume of smoke from the sleeves of her clothing.
Upon her back lie a pair of massive, undamaged wings, heavily singed black where a normal lucevians eye markings might appear. Despite what looks like obvious damage, though, her wings possess no tears, holes, or anything of the sort.
On closer inspection of EmpberSpark's antenna, though, one will find that they are actually fake, synthetic in nature. She is used as a test subject for new antennae replacement for lucevians, outfitted with a psychic inhibitor to try and restrain psychic energy, and redirect it back into the dream controlling powers all lucevian have.
Since EmberSpark lacks antennae, should she choose to remove the inhibitors placed upon her, she will burst into flame, the scorched marks upon her wings lighting up into flaming eyes, light dancing over her entire frame, her pupils even burning bright as she freely lights the world around her ablaze.
Warmth, safety, danger. EmberSpark's personality revolves around fire, with her actions slowly building in intensity based on how focused she is on the world around her.
Ember has a tendency to keep to herself when alone, but puts a big emphasis on herself and her "pirate crew." She will make a big show about recruiting for it, but will kick anyone from her group at a moment's notice. Emberspark will always happily interact with those she keeps around her, an odd show of camaraderie, like a group of strangers enjoying themselves around a crackling campfire. Those on her crew talk about how dangerous she is, with many of them noting being around her for her protection, but she does not seem to mind this, cheerily egging them on to let all know about the power of the Scarlet Flame.
Even though she puts on a big show, EmberSpark has been seen talking to those who are down and out, too lost in their own world to avoid the obvious pirates. She has been found to be drawn to the flames of revolution, those who have been wronged in some way, and towns with a highly abused populace.
While EmberSpark can seem quite calm, like a fire, adding any fuel to her could set her off. A lightning strike, an unfortunate conversation, a punch to her ally's gut…one stray bit of anger can build and cause Ember to lash out, quickly escalating any situation. Her companions have been seen directing her anger, causing her to reel back from confrontations, though they do not always come out of the fire unscathed.
Should no one be able to quell Ember's fury, she's been seen destroying bars, breaking down entire city blocks, even razing towns to the ground in her fury. She is hardly ever alone in these scenarios, with either her crew, or even on some occasions the locals joining in on her revolt. "From the ashes the world can grow anew" is a phrase she has been seen muttering while leading people forward, refusing to back down from the frontlines from her own destructive march.
Only once all the kindling has been charred beyond recognition before this flaming moth will she finally die down, returning to what remains of her crew, and fleeing from the scene of whatever travesty she has caused.
Much of the early history of EmberSpark was burned away, as the village she grew up in had been burnt to the ground, the location of which is just a simple forest. Flames do burn away, but also lead to a renewal over time.
EmberSpark was born before the lucevians integrated back with the rest of the galaxy, only small ships traveling about as they carefully explored the galaxy around themselves. She had trouble relating to other lucevians, as those that were around her suffered from headaches, leaving her alone, and those that would spend time with her took no interest in the world around them. She always had to have someone keep an eye on her, to make sure she didn't start fires.
Since she could never relate to those around her, she focused on anything explorers would bring back with them, taking in the notes found left behind by pirates and merchants in the nearby space. She took a particular interest in the various products being transported and sold, noting the odd mineral composition of each kind making such wildly different fires.
The leaders of the lucevians were quite fine letting EmberSpark freely travel around, taking goods they produced and selling them to nearby settlements in neighboring systems. With her skills, and no one else's direct lack of interest, they allowed her to control the flow of goods, giving her the title of financial leader, and letting her do what she will with what they obtained, as she easily kept the lucevians happy by gathering items that played to their eccentricities.
With all the freedom she had been granted, EmberSpark began to worry about what they had gathered, as she would happily trade expensive silks for small, flammable objects, but understood the value was a bit skewed, especially since they were handing out more than they brought in. She began researching the universe at large, gathering all the info she could, and one thing resonated with her in how simple it was, the notail government's O-Class, O-X. The simple news she read about how this leader had brought the notail government out of financial ruin helped lead her on her own way, and even helped her begin to properly research proper values of items, trade routes, debt lending, and the like.
After years of hoarding actual credits, and creating their own trade network, EmberSpark reached out to the notail government, coming to them with an offer she had set up after setting up a special business only lucevians could offer. Deep in space the lucevians had begun selling their services of dream therapy, building a name for helping people cope with deep seeded issues, or helping them relax by traveling deep into one's mind to safely create a land to work on, and even overcome issues one did not know they had. She offered the notails an exclusive deal to obtain a percentage of the profits made on any lucevian offering this service, in exchange for help spreading out this service, among various other trade deals.
While the deal was in the lucevian's favor, she offered to keep any news about lucevians being in control of such a deal hidden, and everyone would think the clueless lucevians had nothing to do with the deal itself. All information would say that the notails found the lucevians, struck up this deal, and have direct control.
Once the deal was struck lucevians spread out among the universe, their services, while starting off wary, became highly sought after due to their specialized nature. Though EmberSpark herself slipped back into hiding, doing more research over the various species and their dealings.
EmberSpark began appearing less and less, any lucevian around her beginning to spark fire, the dreams slowly fading as she approached. She had realized that the flame within her was seeping out, turning the psychic abilities of others into that of a fire-starting kind. While she loved a good flame, she knew this issue occurring with others would cause issues, so she used her notail connections to invest in cloning technology, creating clones of herself who, hopefully, would lack the issues she has.
Her successor was given a blue dye to her fur, carefully changed so as not to have any issues in their dealings with the notail government, and no other reason, and pushed forward as the new financial leader, while EmberSpark found herself free to explore the universe at her leisure, her successor following the plans she had started long ago.
Oddly enough, EmberSpark took up the mantle of a pirate, using that title to lead a crew to cause havoc she had been holding inside her for the longest time. Finally free to do what she wished, she became known as the Scarlet Flame, her crew burning down any spacers that got in her way. She scorched innocent and guilty alike, reducing settlements and strongholds to ash.
The chaos EmberSpark had been causing came to a head when, unbeknownst to anyone, she came upon the planet of Vertinue, a newly budding planet that was about to join the galactic age, beginning species talks. A Dryad strain of clockwork had begun to overtake the planet, and no one had seemingly noticed, or perhaps were hiding this information. Not much information was retained from the event, and all the universe knows is that a blaze overtook the entire planet, and the species living there never got to become a species properly, with only a few protected outliers being wardened off in case of infection. The lucevian government is currently watching over what remains.
The Eye of the Flame: EmberSpark has complete control over fire, able to craft a flame anywhere around herself, even within the bodies of others. A bomb could detonate beside her, and other than the shrapnel, she can redirect the explosion freely. Any flame within her range grants her vision, her psychic energy causing eyes to appear in these fires.
The flames burn so bright within EmberSpark that they leak into the dreams of nearby species. While this doesn't affect non-psychic creatures, her flames will override the anomalous nature of others, turning their psychic powers into a torrent of flames. This is most powerfully seen in small psychic fauna, who will launch flames at random due to not understanding what is happening.
• EmberSpark is normally hidden by the lucevian government due to her reckless nature and uncontrollable side, but has been freed before.
• While able to be distracted by a simple flame, she not only is acutely aware of the world around her, but can sense everything around her when flames are about.
• Only Ember's crew is safe when she's angered, and even then they are not safe for long.
If Ember is near a clockwork they will begin to smoke, and eventually catch fire.
