Traits
[Tactician] Positive trait
This character is naturally skilled in tactical thinking, and is almost always one step ahead. When in combat, a character with this trait is able to perform special actions and can inform their teammates of the best movements to make.
[Neat] Positive trait
This character keeps things in order. As long as this character is around, objects are less likely to go to waste or be stolen, and if they do they will be noticed right away.
[Flirtatious] Neutral trait
This character will commonly flirt with others when given the chance. This trait does not mean they are good at flirting however.
[Excitable] Neutral trait
This character gets excited easier than others.
[Collector] Neutral trait
This character has a collection of items or does lowkey hoarding of random objects they find. They are more likely to pick up just about anything they find and check it out. If an item is removed from their collection without their approval they may become minorly distressed.
[Racist] Negative trait
This character negatively or positively judges others based on what they were born as and not on the person's actions. This character will commonly review the social standing of a person by their species and race when they see them. This is different from the classist trait as this character does not judge on the character's social standing but the social standing of their entire race. It is possible for a speciesist to see all higher races as scum of the earth and lower species as absolutely perfect.
[Provocative] Negative trait
This character may not be aggressive themselves, but they will often taunt and provoke other characters. While they may have fun doing so, they're prone to angering the wrong person and getting into trouble.
[Patronizing] Negative trait
This person often thinks they are higher than other people in someway, such as intellectually, psychically, monetary, or otherwise. They will often flaunt this fact in someway, such as giving goods, or just loudly proclaiming it whenever a "lesser" is failing at a task they could do. Many do not actually mean to offend, and believe they're doing a friendly gesture or making an observation without realizing the annoyance of the other party.

Physical Description

Physically, Vaxalin is a fairly archetypal example of a indigo blooded poynoid. She has a stout bouncy frame and just barely stands at the respectable height of three feet. She is regarded as somewhat averaged by the fickle and ever changing beauty standards of polynoid high society, having healthy blue skin and A remarkably well sized purple eye in the middle of her face.

Her general appearance and attire are clean and regimented, being rather fastidious on both accounts. Her hair is cut relatively short and generally styled into a somewhat trendy but exceptionally tidy tail. It is predominantly black with a prominent lock being vibrantly indigo in tone.

Her usual attire matches this tendency, being tidy, sharp (In a mostly figurative sense) and militarily bombastic. She has a trend for black military coats accented with golds and indigo, crisscrossed with flamboyant sashes mainly in purples and blues. She accentuates therein with high military boots and gloves, and often topped with a fashionable, formal, black cap, when she does not require the practical protections of a bubble helmet.

Personality

Most people's first impression of Vaxalin would be that she's a markedly, some might say, excessively, put together individual. She is an organized and orderly person who keeps their station, person, and at most times, general attitude clean and tidy. This is hardly an undeserved impression, as it mostly true, though it only accentuates Vaxalin's eccentricities.

Vaxalin is regarded as something of a social pariah amongst polynoid society as, unlike most of their kind, she likes aliens. This, at first sight might not seem like something to be worked up about, but it must be emphasized that Vaxalin really quite strongly likes aliens, and not at all for reasons such an alien might be comfortable with. As while she does indeed have a fascinated, eccentric affection for non-polynoids, to a rather concerning degree, she, like most polynoids, finds them exceptionally disgusting.

She in fact rather loves them for it.

Vaxalin finds the innumerable and varied ways a non-polynoid does not function like a polynoid to be grotesque and hideously absurd, and finds it irresistibly bizarre. These feelings are rather similar to the feelings one might have observing a pile of rotting garbage being eminently fascinated by how disgusted it makes one feel. These tendencies have tended to ostracize Vaxalin from her fellow polynoids, who tend to find her behavior "Gross and Weird."

Of course, Vaxalin doesn't mind this, as she has a markedly evolved sense of self. She generally regards herself as "avant-garde" and a "visionary" for her "exquisite" tastes. Were she not so exceptionally talented as a military officer, this might have more serious repercussion to her life. But alas, she's something of a military genius, and thus she is begrudgingly tolerated by her superiors who chose to send her into actions as far removed from them as possible.

History

Vaxalin began her life just as any other indigo blooded polynoid. A young-noble-to-be raised in the highest echelons of the polynoid nursery system, neither particularly knowing, nor especially being concerned about her biological parents. Even at this early point she was noted for being both exceptionally talented, and exceptionally odd. While she demonstrated a marked grasp on military theory that exceeded polynoids far her senior and demonstrated a keen and cunning mind in simulation training, she also displayed some worrying quirks.

The most obviously unsightly trait was her marked fascination with aliens. She was infinitely fascinated with their bizarre, eclectic ways and morphology. She would go out of her way to find out about them, spending many hours and weeks pouring over observational reports about the habits and natures of the alien.

A lower blooded polynoid might be punished for such unorthodox interest, but by virtue of her blood she was mostly permitted to do these things. Instead she simply faced the scorn of her peers, and on a typical polynoid, even one of her status this was satisfactory in curbing what few behaviors an indigo blood like herself was not permitted.

Vaxalin of course, prided herself on being anything but typical, and if anything seemed to revel in the reputation as being "Unusual".

She would eventually ascend, as most indigo bloods do, to the ranks of Polynoid Military Command. Naturally, when offered the luxury of choosing her posting, she picked the one that would allow her the most opportunities to indulge in her xenophilic interests. In her military career she served with distinction, in spite of her tastes.

In spite of her obvious talent, she found ascension in the military proper slow. It was likely on some level due to a degree of jealousy and spite from her senior peers. As even as a fairly fresh officer cadet she tended to outshine the established leadership, snatching impossible victories from certain defeats, while remaining her usual self. She would thus be bounced around from ship to ship and fleet to fleet, earning as many accolades and enemies while being slowly and begrudgingly promoted up the admiralty track.

The Military High Command of the Empire of course, did not like this one bit.

Ultimately when it finally occurred that she attained the rank of admiral, High command was quite uncertain what to do with her. They obviously didn't want an unorthodox upstart to be involved in high military affairs, yet they could not deny her capability as an asset. Thus they decided, to quite simply, assign her far away from their direct interests, ordering her to engage in war in the far-off fringes of the Empire, a form of "soft-exile".

Recognizing this posting as what is was, Vaxalin took the opportunity to indulge in her hobbies, and patiently waited for an opportunity to gain some recompense from her resentful peers.

Trivia

• Vaxalin maintains a healthy collection of alien artifacts that she's collected over her career. This includes a sizable amount of rather mundane artifacts that members of the species in question likely wouldn't consider notable, yet Vaxalin finds them eminently amusing.

• In addition to her museum of xenological oddities, she also maintains a sort of "zoo" on the planet she uses as her principal retreat. This zoo contains all manner of exotic animals from across the universe, acquired from a long and storied career. The Cosmosdex reminds readers that the polynoid definitions for both "Exotic" and "Animal" explicitly refer to anything of non-polynoid origin.

• Vaxalin has been banned from most Polynetwork messaging services on account of quote: "Talking far too much and at too much length about how weird, gross, and disgusting alien life-forms are."
