Physical Description

A broad and well build vampwelf of slightly above average height. His hair and and fur are both a dark gray with a lighter peppering due to the effects of age and stress. His hair is cut into a short "business cut". He carries himself very seriously, being stiff-necked and sour-pussed. Few have seen Veromund smile, and when they did it was usually about money.

Veroumund is a champion of the "Refined New-Style" of vampwelf fashion trends, combining the New-Style with the "latest" in interstellar fashions. In particular Veromund is rarely seen without a pinstriped suit with "power shoulders" and a tie, all typically in black and/or gold.

Personality

A cold and professional man of exacting standards. Veromund is a strict professional who doesn't tolerate things 'wasting his time' and instead prefers to focus on his business and work to the exception of anything else.

Including, or perhaps especially, his family. Veromund's cold attitude extends to them more harshly than to strangers. Indeed while most would say that he does love his family, it is clear to any observers that this love is more akin to the kind a tycoon holds to their place of business. They love the Vamplesster name and its legacy but little else, the family members who hold it alongside Veromund matter little save for how their actions affect the family's reputation, and he has harsh consequences for those that bring shame to it.

Veromund loves money, and takes great pleasure in acquiring wealth and the power it allows him in life. Veromund indeed, has generated a reputation for untrustworthiness because of this, as though he's not disloyal by nature, he puts far more stock in people that can assure his and his family's future profits over such lofty, nebulous concepts.

He has a famously short temper, tolerating little "nonsense" of any sort. His reactions to such nonsense are quick and decisive, if perhaps not as violent as some of his peers. People usually live to regret making Veromund angry, a rarity in the tumultuous world of vampwelf social politics.

History

Veromund Vamplesster was born the eldest son of a minor count, in a quaint seaside castle in the highlands of the Transylvaaran duchy of Tarth, at this time ruled by the resplendent Duke Vold Il Sang. During his youthful days in Tarth, Veromund swiftly became aquainted with "The Art of the Deal" and over the course of this time effectively scammed half the duchy into tremendous debts to House Vamplesster.

This ultimately led, to the Merchants and Bankers of Tarth to band together and petition Duke Vold for Veromund's immediate execution. To the shock of everyone in the assembly that followed, except perhaps for Veromund, Duke Vold did not have Veromund executed, in fact he had the lot of "Incompetent Penny Stackers and Dust Weighers" executed on the spot instead. Shortly thereafter, suitably impressed by Veromund's displayed expertise in financial affairs, Duke Vold appointed Veromund as his "Meister of Fynance[sic]" at the tender age, of 72.

During his tenure, during which Veromund inherited the County after his father died in a "Political Catastrophe involving the Prince von Drakken and an ill-timed remark about his manhood", Veromund served as an excellent minster, rapidly increasing the wealth of Tarth and making it one of the wealthiest duchies of Transylvaar.

Veromund, all through this, arranged a particular economic situation throughout Tarth and a multitude of surrounding provinces. Through a convoluted scheme of dubious loans and credit, Veromund arranged that the greater majority of the property in these lands, including a great number of noble's estates, was in fact, owned by House Vamplesster.

It arranged in short order, many of the nobles so entangled in this scheme went bankrupt, mainly through the wars, upon which they were repossesed by the House Vamplesster, and being as they lacked any funds to pay anyone to stop them, it went fairly smoothly. This included, the much debased Duke Vold Il Sang, who, in order to retain some of his dignity, sold the titular Duchy to Veromund for the modest sum of a quaint seaside castle in the highlands, to whittle about the rest of his days in humility.

Special

None.

Trivia

• Veromund has no strong feelings about sex, gender, and has had no notable non-marital relations, scandalous or otherwise. This is because Veromund is a no nonsense guy who doesn't mess around with that sort of thing.

• In Castel Aust, the seat of House Vamplesster, their is a vast and massive vault filled near to the brim with all of Veromund's vast wealth. Some people suppose that Veromond, on occasion, swims about this massive gold pile as though it were a pool. Such fanciful notions are almost certainly untrue.

• Veromund visits the home of Erik Karleit on a bi-weekly basis, to offer him a "small" loan of 1,000,000 Drachmarks, or about 376,000 Points, to alleviate his house's poor financial situation. Erik declines, partly through stubborn pride, but mostly because Veromund is "Not a good person." Veromund is banned from geckrechaun space, owing to an incident in which he slaughtered several notable local leaders and sword "Never ending genocide against those stupid lizards and their stupid economic policy." Nevertheless, it is reported that Veromund still makes expeditions onto worlds owned/populated by geckrechauns, specifically to slaughter them.
