Common Jobs: Poison cleanup, Navigators, Researchers
Likes: Warm biomes, Researching environments, Learning new things
Dislikes: Extreme heat or cold, Drying up, Physical contact with others
Attack Method: Jiriri if threatened will try to use their sweet-smelling slime to dis way attackers though will fling slime at their face. They will also attack with their claws or swing their tail to knock the aggressor down.
Jiriri don't follow any gods most believing they are not even real and gods play no part in everyday life. They focus on instead their own impact to help better the species. Though Jiriri off planet are fascinated with gods, most picking one to study or follow.
Jiriri are bipedal creatures with amphibious skin, four arms, and a thick tadpole-like tail with frills. They have large ears with antennae and catfish whiskers on their face. The most notable feature about them is their extremities and chest are covered in thick slime-like goop. The skin ranges from purples to blues, to red and in extreme cases a light pink. Most sport stripes or veiny-looking patterns along their skin in a lighter color too. The slime they use for many different purposes ranging from protection to dis way attackers to even in a pinch a quick snack. Especially when laying down for a long rest the slime can form a protective shield but it's more likely used to keep them from drying out. The slime to other species or fauna is also toxic to a degree. Small fauna might feel ill for days and can be easily hunted to a bigger creature simply just having minor stomach aches or pains. Jiriri are naturally immune to such toxins so it doesn't bother them one bit.
Surprisingly their young are born without slime and look wildly different. The kits are born with dark almost black fur and with their tail bundled around them too big for their young size. Within a few days, the fur will slop off making way for the amphibious skin and the slime. They form a mucus sac where they will stay for a few days until losing all fur until ready to move and join adults. During this time unlike the adult's sweet scent, they release a deterring rotted smell to avoid predation while vulnerable. Then when a bit more mature it will slowly turn into a sweet scent like the adults. The process from birth to maturing to that stage takes roughly a few weeks and will be guarded by the parents. It will still take at least a few years to enter the adult cycle and some may grow a bit more after that too. Jiriri are also polyamorous within their species and leave child-rearing to parents or anyone in the family group as some don't wish to be held down by kits while others don't mind hanging around a mucus nest all day.
Jiriri also must watch their slime appendages and avoid extreme heat or cold as it can affect the slime on them. The slime can easily freeze and break off which is not preferable and quite painful. Extreme heat can also cause the skin and slime to dry up and the slime will break off in dangerous peeling which is quite painful too.
Jiriri are a highly sociable species but also like to try and problem solve themselves or in small groups. They are highly curious and try to figure out how things work, like to explore and build anything even with mindless twigs and stones. The species also likes to study and see how their slime especially affects each other's fauna or plants.
They often like to share how they figured a problem out and happily hand out the solution to such issues. Thus leading to the whole species building up in a sense. They may prefer to work alone at times but help others in their family units. They will also help other species, especially ones that call their planet home but are still wary of species beyond the stars. Though they can warm up quickly if they can get past the slime.
Jiriri tries to contain their slime to themselves finding it disrespectful to spread slime on an unwilling species so they keep physical contact to a minimum. They will also clean up after themselves after resting or leaking slime. Of course, the young kits don't know this and will fling slime to other kits during playtime much to the parent's displeasure.
Jiriri were not always slime-flinging creatures; they were in fact furred like the young. Though when modernization and pollution came to their planet they embraced it. Maybe a bit too much as the toxins make them lose their fur and look mangy. They took to build up from their rainforest-like planet and make shelters and explore ways to solve this. With the food and environment being affected so badly their bodies slowly evolved to handle it and made them slimier in turn.

None.
• Jiriri that travel off planet will dare others or themselves to try more and more toxic plants or animals simply to see what happens while others record these tests. Most times it ends up in death as they are resistant but not immune, to begin with.
• Jiriri are amazing navigators and will map out any environment if given the proper time. They also will make notes of anything of interest or something they liked when looking around.
• Their slime, if you can handle toxins, is actually sweet tasting too, not just in scent! Maybe try some on a desert if you don't mind a stomach ache.
