Traits
[Semi-famous] Neutral trait
This character is slightly famous for an action they've done in the past or due to who their parents were. This character may get small gifts rarely but most of the time people will just recognize them.
[Gossiper] Neutral trait
Whatever the situation, you can bet this character has heard (or wants to hear) the lowdown. Whether or not it's reliable info is another story. Characters with this trait tend to be very chatty.
[Security Blanket] Neutral trait
This character has an item on their possession that they interact with daily, or even during conversation. This provides light morale and sanity bonuses while they have it, but without it they will seek a replacement and can take light morale and sanity damage. The item can be anything, not just a blanket.
[Often Liveblogs] Neutral trait
This character has a specific habit they do in certain situations, such as biting nails or auditory self stimulation.
[Passionate about Crime Shows] Positive trait
The character has a strong passion for some area. They might know more about this stuff than others, or may perform better on tasks relating to this topic than someone else with equivalent traits and skills.
[Persuasive] Positive trait
This character not only has a way with words but people are ready and willing to listen. This trait means this character has a better chance when trying to convince a character to do a deed. Sometimes this character might even be willing to convince others to do things they'd never even consider before.
[Cryptic] Negative trait
This character speaks in code and references to holoshows they've seen. Due to this it's extremely hard for people around them to understand what they are trying to say. This character might be so dedicated to their riddles that they are willing to endanger others with their unwillingness to stop. Ex: This character knows about a monster coming up, this character will tell the people who are heading towards the monster a riddle about how there is a monster in the next room without saying directly there is a monster and they need to prepare for it.
[Liveblogger] Ability trait
This character is constantly broadcasting their whereabouts to an audience. If something were to happen to them, news would spread quickly to their followers.

Physical Description

@HootoffDPresses, Hoot for short, is an average-looking tweep, usually spotted interviewing the most interesting-looking person in any given room. His head-mounted phone has a square card labelled "PREZ" sticking clearly out of it, and he'll be taking down notes, digital and handwritten, with any limbs not needed to keep himself upright.

Personality

@HootoffDPresses is a journalist with particular interest in criminal organizations. @HootoffDPresses claims to know all there is to know about the criminal mind - in reality, he knows everything about depictions of them in media. He's watched (or at least read the summaries of) such a staggering number of stories, shows, and documentaries that he ends up surprisingly more knowledgeable about criminal behavior than most.

@HootoffDPresses is constantly looking to be first on the scene to a hot scoop, and is thus constantly on the move and interviewing persons of interest. While friendly enough to anyone willing to share their story, he quickly loses interest in peaceful locales and goes to where trouble needs the light of journalistic integrity shone upon it. On at least one occasion he's solved a decades-old crime and left before anyone could thank him.

Unusually for a Tweep, @HootoffDPresses is decent at listening instead of talking, although he'll ask no shortage of questions. Given the opportunity though, he loves explaining his deductions to interested listeners. His talk relies a lot on references to shows he's watched, or shows he's read online discussions about. Because of this and his habit of thinking+reviewing evidence aloud, understanding the thrust of his arguments can be a challenge.

History

@HootoffDPresses enjoyed an average Tweep's youth as an avid follower of Snapped Tweep journalists, and rabid consumer of media relating to law and order. When a Fortuna-bound ship @HootoffDPresses was hired onto was hijacked by traitorous crew members, the Tweep Snapped and aided the remaining crew in eliminating the traitors by advising the ship's first mate Andromeda, an Apollo v17.

Following this incident @HootoffDPresses decided to "venchur 4th + mak da newz com 2 me!!!" and used his newfound small fame to springboard his career in investigative journalism. He is notorious for interviewing and investigating Fortuna-bound crews, and making sure any of their misdeeds in lawless deep space are given the necessary public attention.

Special

Liveblogger: @HootoffDPresses keeps a near-constant running online commentary of all the people they meet and the happenings they run into. If Hoot sees something he considers important for the public to know, his readership will be quick to hear about it.

Trivia

• @HootoffDPresses will seek out scandal and hidden underbellies of any location he visits, but is most often spotted around refuelling stations and waypoints near Fortuna herself, citing an "apreshabl public intrst in da diseminashn of ne criminl hapenins/stylins w/ da ilk dat gos tryna nab wshs from a mythikl plan@, u fl me?"

• @HootoffDPresses has received multiple complaints from fans of @Hoot, a Strix fashion blogger. They claim the journalist is infringing on @Hoot's brand by not being more firm in telling his fans to use his proper name.

• A @HootoffDPresses fanblog tracks which liveblog and review blogs he follows for plot summaries+analysis, what shows and which episodes of which he's definitely watched first-hand, and the television appearances he's made personally reporting live and giving his opinions.

• The earliest entry in the last category is "Get Mooned - Pilot Episode."
