In terms of overall stature and physicality Estii is mostly the same as the average apidee queen. She stands at a little under four and a half feet tall, and has four arms and two legs, and a prodigious abdomen, topped with a stinger.
She has a head of medium length light blonde hair, bordering on white. It has a certain luster and quality that makes it seem as though it is actually gold, or at least flecked in it. Unlike most apidee, queen or otherwise, Estii does not have black eyes, but instead has vibrant gold-yellow eyes.
Her brightly colored eyes and hair contrast with her rather dark skin tone, even for an apidee, nearly being black making it rather difficult to tell where her skin ends and her carapace begins.
Her general fashion sense is a somewhat fantastical take on a knight. She wears vibrantly white armor pieces over an elegantly designed dress in yellow and black. She has heavy looking gauntlets over her four arms and she wears a pair of robust sabatons. Contrary to these seemingly practical pieces of armor, she has a pronounced skirt, reaching to just below her knees with a cut-out for her abdomen.
She is sometimes seen in a "casual" attire that is usually just the same dress, without the armor pieces.
Estii is a "classically heroic" individual, bold, courageous, strong, and with an unflappable sense of confidence in her actions. She behaves in a manner that betrays no doubt in her own abilities, which are, to be fair, rather exceptional by most standards. With abilities like hers she has rarely been punished for her own prodigious confidence, but according to the stories told about her, she certainly has been, and almost certainly will again.
She's an exceptionally driven individual motivated by a love of adventure and a desire to do what she considers good in the universe. This has often causes her to shirk what responsibilities she has as the leader of an organization, but most of them don't mind, mostly because most of them are apidee who don't mind these things.
Estii attempts to appear "aloof" and "cool" most of the time, but like most apidee, is quick to bore and generally, quick to lose patience with anything long winded.
Even still she's renowned as being kind and selfless, usually putting others before herself, and sometimes even before her greater goals. She loathes dishonesty, from others certainly, but mostly from herself. Often she will forgive others for lying, even about things that are important, but she often castigates herself severely over the realization that she's been telling a lie, even by accident. Still she's an apidee at the end of the day, and doesn't tend to overly dwell on such things.
Note, the following is taken entirely from the blog of Estii's fan club, as Estii herself refuses to take interviews or answer questions about herself to anyone else.
"Once upon a time" begins the about page on Estii's fan blog dedicated to her life. Estii was an entirely ordinary apidee, and a member of the "Questing order of the sacred Honeysuckle", dedicated to bringing good will, honey, and acquiring treasure. During one such excursion, Estii was stranded on an unknown planet due to a terrible storm.
It was a horrible, sudden and spontaneous blizzard, and being an apidee, she naturally disliked the cold, even more so than most people. She desperately searched for some shelter from the icey storm, searching high and low for three days and three nights, as the storm neither ended, nor did she find any shelter from it.
On the fourth day, Estii passed out upon a sheet of ice that seemingly covered a suitably sheltering cave. In any other story, that would be the ironically tragic end of our dear heroin.
This is of course, an apidee story. And so, hours later, as the day waned into the fourth night, Estii awoke, in the very cave she seemed to be cruelly denies mere hours ago. Unfortunately for her fate was not too kind to her, as though she was safe from the storm, it was incredibly cold, and her wings had frozen over, preventing her from flying. It seemed likely that she would still suffer a tragic end.
But then, the story is told, she began hearing a voice, beckoning her deeper into the cave, and, lacking any compelling other options she following. For hours she trudged through the icy cave, until at last she came upon what seemed to be her destination. An alter, upon which, to Estii's unbelieving eyes, sat a magnificent golden chalice, filled to overflow with what appeared to her to be the sweetest honey she had ever seen.
She heard the voice again, beckoning her to drink from the chalice, and being variously delirious from cold and the onset of starvation, she unquestioningly obliged. Upon taking her first desperate sips from the chalice she was suddenly bathed in a magnificent golden light, and seemingly transformed, into the form of a magnificent apidee queen. With her strength rejuvenated and in fact redoubled, she swiftly escaped the cave, having overlooked, in her euphoric state, the magnificent chalice which has precipitated her revival.
She returned to Apidaria, transformed, and shared her tale, quite eagerly, with her fellows, forming a new "Knightly Order" dedicated entirely to locating the "Honey Grail" as she dubbed it, which had seemingly vanished from it's prior location.
Or at least, that is according to the fan blog.
Bestain: Estii's primary armament is a sword that is large, for an apidee, being nearly as long as Estii is tall. The weapon is seemingly made of gold, yet is as strong as a weapon made of steel, and smells --and allegedly tastes-- as though it were dipped in honey. The sword is allegedly a quite potent weapon, sharper than any normal sword, and able to project beams of blazing light. The latter ability not yet being proven to actually exist.
According to legend largely told by Estii's fan club and "fellow knights", the sword was once the weapon of some "Mystical Warrior Prince from beyond the stars". This "prince" had accordingly, gone to apidaria after renouncing the wicked ways of his people and decidedly to live amongst the "Peaceful whimsical funny apidee". As a proof of his vow of peace, he tossed his weapon into a lake, and then proceeded to walk into Mount Cythridae, never to be seen again.
As the story goes, while Estii was "questing" in the region of Mount Cythridae, she stumbled upon the "Warrior Prince" and after a brief confrontation between the two, they began a long conversation. This conversation, as the story goes and as anyone who knows apidee will expect, quickly went too long for Estii. Allegedly, sensing her tremendous potential, although possibly also to just placate her impatience, The Prince told her of the location of his sword, promising that if she found it, she would attain great power.
And so Estii went to the location of the lake that the prince so long ago threw his sword, and retrieved it from the saccharine depths. In the years since, it had seemingly absorbed the honey of the lake, and only grew in power, becoming an even more impossibly mighty blade.
Or so the fan club likes to say.
• Reportedly, after a notoriously bad interview with noted tv personality Bizz, Estii has refused to respond to any and all requests on being interviewed by anyone from outside of apidaria.
• Estii owns "about a hundred" different swords, all of which have weird and interesting stories that are all cataloged on her fan club's website. Reportedly, none of them are as interesting or as inexplicable as the one about Bestain.
• Estii once facilitated a major war over a series of comical misunderstanding about the definition of a "grail", a vaguely worded contract of land ownership, and a law stipulating that one is not allowed to bring swords into any major city. The planet of Farfargle IX demands she repay in some form of community service, which she refuses because she's fairly certain she was in the right.
