Physical Description

A growze is a plant nearly identical in appearance to a standard rose plucked rose. Its blooms come in every color imaginable, though the stems and leaves only shift slightly from their green hue. It has no thorns, unlike its namesake. Aside from the lack of thorns, it looks identical to a rose at first glance.

Behavior

A growze is a strange thing. They only grow while nobody is watching them, at which point they grow incredibly quickly, straight upwards. Their stems have a tendency to multiply to support the weight of the bloom. Their leaves are known to make great shade if removed.

While growzes are not sentient, they do occasionally trap people within them by means of wrapping around their victims with their stems while they grow. The victims, when their bodies are found, show no injuries other than those given to them by trying to escape; they only ever come out dehydrated or starved. Those that do escape say that the plants are not hostile, but circumstances simply aligned as such that they had been trapped. It is unknown how exactly these people come to these conclusions.

Subspecies

Hungry Growze: A hungry growze is also simply known as a "thorned growze." Unlike their relatives these growzes actively try to wrap around people. Those who become trapped actively curse the plant.

• If left alone for long enough, a growze will sink into the ground, making the land even more fertile.

• Some accidentally park their ships next to growzes, only to come back hours later to it being engulfed in its stems.
