Traits
[Annoying] Negative trait
This character is just annoying in general, either by making obnoxious sounds, snarky yet rude comments, or a large list of unpleasant things. Sometimes they may not even know that they're annoying others, which just adds to people's frustrations. They will slowly drain morale and sanity from crew members.
[Crybaby] Negative trait
If this character is put under stressful situations they may break down crying and become useless for the duration of their panicking.
[Emotional Dysregulation] Negative trait
This character has trouble with processing, reacting to or controlling their emotions in ways other characters might typically expect. The character's hypersensitivity or hyperreactivity to emotional situations may result in their avoidance of such situations or relationships. Likewise, other characters may be put off by how "intense" or "unpredictable" they find the character.
[Loud] Neutral trait
This character speaks very loudly or can yell loudly when they want to. As such they slightly better than most at intimidation, but may annoy their crewmates or attract unwanted attention.
[Impatient] Neutral trait
This character gets annoyed easily by things taking too long. They're willing to wait if they have to, but they won't like it, and they'll try to rush things as much as they deem is reasonable.
[Talkative] Neutral trait
This character will talk for ages if allowed and rarely runs out of anything to say.
[Evasive] Positive trait
Gravity isn't much of an obstacle for this character. They are capable of performing acrobatic maneuvers with ease, and can reach places that most others cannot. This is also good for avoiding foes, and showing off of course).
[Mood Meter] Ability trait
([Always on Time]/[Always Late]) This character has two main moods, mood X and mood Y. Mood X is connected to trait 1 which is a positive trait. Mood Y is connected to trait 2 which is a negative trait. When this character feels X, trait 1 is activated. When this character feels Y, trait 2 is activated. It is possible to have both activated at the same time.

Presence

Seconds is a pair of expensive looking analog wrist-watches with branding indicating that they were produced by the "Chronexio" watch company.

They are identical in the following ways: They both have white faces, with no markings indicating what the time actually is, and they are missing every hand except for the second hand. Each watch has/had a series of six buttons running along the bottom side of their respective face from left to right.

Besides that, one watch, the "Right" watch as indicated by an "R" written on the top portion of its face, is gold plated, and has a black leather wrist-strap. On the bottom portion of its face is written the word "TICK" in large black letters. As well, the buttons on the left side of the face have been broken off, leaving small holes where the would be.

The other, the "Left" watch, indicated by the "L" written where the "R" is on the other, is silver plated, and has a blue faux-leather wrist-strap. It features the word "tick" written in small black letters on the bottom portion of its face. All the buttons on the right side of the face have been taped down, with what appears to be be black electrical tape.

When someone wears one of the watches, their body undergoes a change, they become encased in a smooth membrane, that to all appearances resembles a lycra unitard covering the entire body, including the face, save for white eyes where the victims eyes are. When only one of the watches is worn, the covering is a singular color, solid gold for the left watch, and solid silver for the right watch, with a black spot in the center.

But when both of the watches are worn, the covering takes on a binary color patter, predominately gold on the left side, and predominately silver on the right side, with the alternated spread symmetrically around.

Disposition

Seconds is a bifurcated being split between his two watches. When an individual only wears one of the watches they only become one half of seconds, with only one half of his personality, and general nature.

When one wears only the left watch, Seconds "GOLD" as they are dubbed, is an "amped" and hyperactive sort of being. They are constantly panicking and concerned about being late, despite their actual real punctuality on the subject. Beyond this they carry an air of congenial contrition about their perceived deficiencies and supposed or real tendencies to cause inconvenience to people. GOLD often apologies, either for being too impatient to wait or for any other reason at all.

The version of Seconds when one wears the right watch, Seconds "SILVER" is rather different. SILVER is more high strung than properly amped, always a second away from shouting at someone over causing them to be tardy. And tardy they often are, for despite constantly being short with people at aggrieved for "Wasting my valuable time" they often make no effort to be on time to anyway, an indeed seem to lose track of time, despite being a literal timepiece.

The full composite being of Seconds is somewhere in between these two extremes. They are mercurial and often excited, to the point of causing distress to lower energy individuals with their wild swings of emotion. They're always complaining about how little time their is for anything at all and often rushes through life a frenetic pace in some bizarre attempt to be timely. Sometimes they're nice and friendly, sometimes they're a jerk, and often they are quite apologetic regardless.

Acts

A being purported to be seconds has often been spotted wending his way to and fro across the universe for millennia. Always in a hurry and never giving a clear response to what he's in such a rush to go to, there are many accounts with various degrees of veracity, of encounters with Seconds.

Most go rather similarly with Second wending away his apparently precious time making amends or shouting at whatever individual has occupied his time at the moment. Sometimes he helps people find their way, other times he helps them get lost. All the while he frenetically checks his twin time-pieces ever certain he's already too late and has barely any time to spare.

In such events he is know to bring time wasting misfortune or helpfulness, seemingly at random and of dubious merit in any scenario.

The watches, Seconds is actual form, sometimes disappear from the universe for centuries at a time. They always show up again though, in some strange and unlikely manner. Historically jewelery stores would suddenly find the paired watches in the inventory, uncertain of when they got there. In more modern times, they will often suddenly be listed in online stores that sell watches.

Seconds is purported, mostly by himself, to be merely the eldest of a set of siblings, known as the Ticking Trio. Their younger siblings being, as one would expect, called Minutes and Hours. Seconds is not often in the company of his siblings as they are "too slow" for his frenetic lifestyle, "And even less punctual."

Special

Seconds Keeper: Seconds has power over seconds. He can travel through time forward or backwards, several seconds. He can stop time for a second or two, relative to him. He can slow or accelerate the aging of any being, by a factor of seconds. His abilities seem to be "attached" to one of his watches, as someone with only one will only get some of these powers. There doesn't appear to be any reliable correlation as to which powers go in which watch, and it indeed, seems entirely random.

The Watch

There once was an old watchmaker, who lived in a small brown house, in a simple country village. He lived simply, building, repairing, and caring, for the simple watches of the simple people of the simple country village.

Then one day a package arrived for the watchmaker, of the simple country village. A magnificent watch, plated in gold, certainly the most beautiful watch the simple watchmaker had ever seen with his own eyes.

It was, naturally, broken, it lacked two of its hands, and did not stir a bit. The watchmaker concluded that it was sent to him to fix, for what else would a watch be doing in a watchmaker's shop. And surely, thought the watchmaker, that one who owned such a magnificent watch would pay a magnificent sum, to have it repaired.

Being a simple watchmaker in a simple country village, the watchmaker could not find all the parts to repair such a beautiful watch, so the watchmaker focused on what he could. He replaced the gears and springs, and tightened loose screws. The watchmaker worked for hours, marveling at internals as beautiful as the externals. And soon he was finished, and the watch began to tick and tick and tick and tick.

Mesmerized by the ticking, the simple watchmaker slipped the watch upon his wrist. No sooner had he done, then he felt a surge of energy, and a sudden exuberance as though he were a much younger man. He leaped from his workshop and ran through the simple country village, whooping and hollering his excitment to all around. But eventually night came, and the watchmaker returned to his shop, and rested.

The next night, another watch arrived. Plated in silver it was no less magnificent than the first, and the watchmaker was equally mesmerized by it as by the first.

The watchmaker wasted no time, He got out his tools, changed from his bedclothes, and set to work. He fixed the gears, and tightened the screws and secured the springs, and greased the mechanisms. And then he was done again, and the watch began to tick and tick and tick and tick.

The second watch, too, the watchmaker slipped upon his wrist. And again he was filled with an exuberant energy, and a sudden feeling of restlessness. And thus again he leaped from his workshop, and ran about the simple country village, whooping and hollering again as the previous day. Except this time, he did not stop when the night came. Indeed he never stopped.

And soon his exuberant restlessness took him far an away.

And the The small brown house, in the simple country village, was empty, and noone ever saw the old watchmaker again.

Trivia

• Seconds knows 1256 different words, phrases, and signs for "Sorry", including a great many in the tourist's odd languages, which indeed he seems to prefer over plain limlish or any of the more conventional languages.

• The watches that compose Seconds are inextricably drawn to each-other. If one is worn without the other the wearer of one will seek out the other. In the event that both watches are being worn by separate individuals, the being wearing the gold watch will evidently beat the other being to death to acquire the companion watch.

• Seconds is know to collect wristwatches, which he wears alongside his own watches on arms from time to time. It's unclear why he does this, but most assume it must be a defensive mechanism.
