Because the Singer is a short-minded monster, who will likely assume that killing us makes you "open" to a new professional relationship.

The Singer wants to help you, but it's not very good at such things! It knows that our help will be things it wishes it could do, so it will kill us to establish itself as the baseline of "support." I'm sure if we could speak to it without it automatically going in for the kill, an understanding can be made!

The Singer can't be that deadly, right? It hasn't tried to kill anybody yet... aside from those townsfolk a while back.

The Singer IS that deadly. We stand no chance if it wants to kill us.

Though I believe there are ways to improve the Singer's attitude, I would not like to attempt them when it puts unwilling people like Helios and likely yourself at risk of danger! If only I could try it by myself.

It is not ok for someone ill-informed to attempt such a thing. It must be those who understand the danger of taking the plunge of healing those who would rather bite the hand that assists them.

While he cannot find you, yourself, and us, while you are in a roomtrap, he can tell that you aren't around anymore. As such, if you commit to a roomtrap, do not expect to come back to normality once you return. He may decide to snack on the crew or change them in his typical ways.
