Notepad
The AI leaves before finishing his sentence. He just sort of waved his marker, or whatever he had and wheeled away. Captain Crimson feels tired. Like always. Not willing to sleep while so close to the planet, Crimson heads back to his room to wait.
After the AI wrote on top of your text you open a notepad feature the game has to keep notes. Seeing as you're not allowed to mumble into your mic, or else the text that appears would be overwritten by the AI, it would just be safer to put your thoughts into the notepad.
