"You may be right, in the sense that my characters have no free will, or independent thoughts. They are likely mere game constructs. They probably do not deserve the respect that you AIs should have from your view point.

However, this does not mean that you should be able to simply kill them off at your discretion. As much as I am able to command them and control their minds, they do form their own independent thoughts. They have their own desires, their own opinions, their own joys, their own vices. Even if we give them those at times, they do have at least some control over their own lives.
