Herr and many other cekekis from the company entered the dock, chattering away. "You know, it's going to be fun to relax for once! Life's been a downer recently."

"Eh...plus....the captain wouldn't give me a refund on this trip and I already paid."
Madam
"It's been so long since we've had a company outing. Thank you for letting me plan this, Mr. Herr."
Madam
Madam trotted forward to greet Monsieur. "Monsieur! Monsieur! Just where I left you this morning!~ How have sales been my Monsieur?"

"Poor."
Madam
"Not a single one sold I see.....Uh...do tell...where did you get this giant one from? It's about as big as me!"

Ray nudges a green cekeki's tail. "Eyes on me, pal." He jumps a few steps up the stairs of the ship. "Don't even bother. I know what you're thinking."

Monster snaps to attention, like he'd been shaken out of sleep. He'd split off from the cekeki pack to go speak to Madam, but stalled upon seeing the two together.
Monster
"Yeah, right..." He follows Ray up the stairs, looking back over his shoulder for the briefest glance before keeping his eyes trained on Ray, as instructed.
Monster
He trots a little closer, shoulder to shoulder with the other cekeki to whisper. ("I kinda really do need to talk with her though. Between you and me I don't think know how long Herr's gonna hold this place together without the machine.")
Ray
("Ha. You know me.")
Ray
Ray takes out his cig and blows a puff of smoke. ("Already got it handled, pal. Everything is fine now. You know if you can't trust anyone else in this company, you can trust me, right?")

("Can't wait to see the boss' face when he realizes what I've done.") Ray pauses to stare at the other cekeki from the corner of his eye. He's barely paying attention while the ship captain is shouting out orders to the crew and making jabs about payment to Herr.

("But you still want to talk to her, don't you?")

He rolls his shoulders a little, making a purposeful effort to keep her out of his line of sight. As if maybe, if he didn't look, he wouldn't want to say...

("Y-Yeah.")

("But is it so wrong? I just wanna make sure she's alright is all. That guy she's with is practically a toy already, he ain't gonna take care of her if shit hits the fan.")
Ray
Ray looks over his shoulder, the ship starting to leave the dock with the cekekis on board. He stares at Madam dragging around Monsieur. ("..............")
Ray
("Of course he's like that. She treats him like her toy.")
Monster
("Oh so you're saying it's her fault? She just wants a toy to play with, is that it?")
Ray
("Yes. And I'm sure you'd want to be her toy, pal. You seriously jealous of a man being dragged around like a doll? He says he's fine with it, but it can't be true. I don't believe it.")
Ray
("You know what? Act like you haven't heard me say a thing. Maybe if she gets a little wake up call, she'll act a bit more proper. You know. It'd be nice if she dropped that toy of hers.")

("Know that I got the company safe in my hands. Just need to pull a few more strings, pal.")

("Get ourselves a new Zookeeper.")

("Could be her, if you scare her a bit for me.")
Monster
His focus breaks and he glances over at her, doting on the smaller cekeki.

("Stop fucking around man, does she look like she wants that kind of pressure?")

("Look at her. Those aren't deep waters marking her. She likes it free, breezy.")
Ray
("Ew.")
Ray
("And look what a "free and breezy" girl got you. Kicked to the curb so she could have a "toy." If you want a good woman, a little stress never hurts.")
Ray
("Remember when she was smoking cigarettes? Showing her teeth? She had a more dangerous, classy style woman vibe back then. Now look at her? All cutesy and shit. She can be a cutthroat woman, but she got that little "toy" by her side and she spends all her time laughing at things that ain't even jokes.")

("She's laughing at him, most of the time. Like he's the joke.")

("But- Just- Hang on a sec. If you hate her so much, why are you trying to get her the promotion?")

Stranger has been staring at Monster and Ray talking from afar for awhile. A crab scuttles next to him and he leaps back in fear, terror in his eyes.

Monsieur on the other hand is being.....

Ray then pulls Monster's head back. ("And then there's me. Look at me. I ain't making sales. Ooooh poor Ray. No savings to his name. How could I run this company?") He says, half heartedly.

("I know there's you, but I'm looking to kill two birds with one stone. Get that lady back to her real self, and get the company back up running.")

("And you, of course.......you can keep the lady after. I just want the company to not be shitting itself every other month.")

("She's not property Ray, I...")

("Can't I want what's good for everyone? If Madam is Zookeeper, you get your girlfriend back, Monsieur can finally work on having a backbone, and the company is saved! Sounds like a damn good plan to me.")

("You've got it all figured out don't you?")

("When a poor man is dying, no savings in his account, he starts dreaming of glory you know?")

He stops to think for a moment, a thousand yard stare at the couple and their antics. He lifts up a paw, placing it on Ray's shoulder. ("Ray...")

("Of course you look like an asshole. You eat women, and are the spit image of that chew toy.")

("I don't think you can get anymore 'asshole' than where you're at now, but I bet you'll prove me wrong.")

He gets something of a jitter as he trots away, a hot flash passing over flesh and phantom limb. He couldn't take the threat seriously, but...
Monster
He shakes himself free of the feeling, stopping to survey the cekeki on the ship and what they were doing.
Stranger
Stranger had carefully placed himself in Monster's way. Sitting ever so politely. A tripping hazard.
Monster
Sure enough he bumps into Stranger, halting abruptly as he looks down from Madam and Monsieur to the little cekeki in his path.

He looks over at Madam and Monsieur, then off over the edge of the ship.
Monster
"Good. Good person."
Stranger
"I saw you talk to a bad person for a very long time."
Stranger
"But I will believe you." Stranger silently holds out something covered by his hands. "Open your hands."
Monster
He sits, then opens his hands out to the Stranger.

The Stranger places a crab in Monster's hand and leaps back away from it, terrified.

"Whoa! Okay." Monster nearly drops the crab himself, barely managing to secure a hold around one of its pincers and letting it dangle in the air.

"Uh... Uhm..." There really isn't anywhere to stash a crab on a cekeki body.
Monster
"Thanks kid, I'll find somewhere to lose this."
Stranger
"Thank you." The Stranger trots away, leaving Monster trapped with the crab.
Madam
As Stranger moves out of the way, Madam, who was curious about the two, locks eyes with Monster.

He looks away from the two briefly to secure the crab in his tail, wrapping it tight in the interlocking bones before striding forward with all four limbs free.

"Good day."
Madam
"It sure was before you blocked out my sun." Madam points to the other side of the ship. "You mind moving just a little bit?"
Monster
"No- Yeah, sure." He steps to the side a bit.
Madam
"A little more to the side."
Monster
"Here?" He steps just a little further.
Madam
"You almost have it I think. Just a liiiiittle more."
Monster
"I'm really not even..." He looks over to where she had pointed originally, then down to where he was standing.
Monster
"Ah. I see."
Madam
"No you don't."
Madam
"Because if you could see, you would have moved to the correct place."
Monster
He could go for a swim right about now.
Madam
"It's ok. I know it's hard for you to listen to instructions." Madam turns around with a flick of her tail. "I'll move to help you out."

His head twitches, as though it had barely processed that Monsieur was speaking, but eventually he rolls his eye from Madam to Monsieur.

"When I saw that happen, I found I did not care."
