BUT FIRST, A PROLOGUE
Rule of Rose OST - Jealous
Legend states that in one point of time, a drattle was born.
Legend states, that this particular drattle was born in harsh poverty. That their parents could not keep them, or perhaps that they simply did not want the child. Some have said that the parents were eaten up by tigers, or their lives taken in the middle of the night by means of armed robbery. That a storm had ripped the child out of their mother's hands and they were simply never seen again. Legend states...
No orphanage could keep the child for more than a month or two. No amount of bruised knuckles, no time spent scrawling on chalk board or waiting in dusty corners could correct their pointedly cruel behavior. A problem child among aliens, and a budding supervillain to those who recount the tale.

Catastrophe struck wherever they went. Any bully that crossed the young drat found themselves strung from trees, pelted by rocks while looking away. Legend spoke of a classmate that told ugly rumors of the child was pushed into an open well while their back was turned. Headmasters were both horrified and impressed by their wicked nature.
Legend states that the child would then grow older, more clever and devious with age. Legend states that a drattle crawled their way through dirt and gravel while prison guards only noticed hours later of a daring escape. Legend states that a drattle, not a white hair on their head, was able to convince others of their innocence with charisma alone, and promptly stabbed them in the back when best suited. Legend states of a drattle so slick and cunning, intelligent and dastardly, they had become the Exemplary Drattle.

A supervillain like no other. No bank was safe, no prisoner kept, no amount riches could be saved from the one that legend named; Buckingham The First.

...Legend states.

..That it is only legend that Buckingham The First ever existed to begin with. At some point of time, at the height of fame and fortune, the universe's most feared and infamous drattle simply.. vanished, without a trace. And with them so did much of the evidence to their very existence also seemingly fall between the cracks. All that was left of The First were these legends, stories that drattles told to each other in excited whispers. Spoken between friends around a campfire, a book read to a young drat as they drift off to sleep. Words said to one's self in admiration, in hopes that they may too amount to that level of infamy someday. With no concrete evidence, who is to say what is the truth and what is telephoned down by word of mouth?

What we do know to be true is all that remains; there is manor. And within the Buckingham Manor, there was mountain of riches. And those who inherited those riches...

Twenty individuals. Twenty clones that would carry the surname Buckingham, whether it was worn proudly across their hearts or like a branding on their soul. And with it, they carry not only the echos of The First's legacy. They're marked with their pride, their envy, their greed and cruelty. Their short comings... and their failure. However....

This is not his story. Nor where the story begins.
[Two Duets for Hunting Horns - Collegium Musicum Of Prague]
"...Quite the doozy, right?"

The shaky camera refocuses in on a drattle, chatting with someone off screen. Red and gold glints off his rings as the camera pans out.
"Ah- no no, point it a little upwards- there we are. Is that good?"
"That's enough family history lesson, I ought to introduce myself. I am Bernard Buckingham the 5th! But all you out there may call me Bernie for short. BB for even shorter! Five's another but that's reserved mostly for family members."
The person out of view mutters something, Bernard gives a hearty chuckle.

"If you recognize this ol' mug o' mine then you're probably familiar with my appearances on Television. Nothing all that big, just a bit in a documentary n' interview. The subject is what's more interesting than the film itself-"
"That would be Anomalies, my friend! And if I'm hearin' right, this resort's crawlin' with em. You can practically smell it first step onto the sand."
More muttering, Bernard changes his tone.

"Oh come now, think better of me than that. I understand the notion, given my background, but this is a vacation of sorts isn't it?"
"I'm here to relax, first and foremost. I'd advise you to do the same, Chum!"
