"You know, you both are strange for wanting to see a dragon on a low crew. Are you not scared for if the dragon attacks us? No one is manning the electro cannons, and that little creature will do us no good." Naut points to the single dentine brought on board.

"I would have preferred there be less people on board. No animals either! A dragon is more likely to appear when there is only a single person near."

"I assume I would not count?"
Longfur
"No, that is why I wanted you to stay on this ship. You would not count. But seeing as I am not allowed to rent this vessel alone, this other person may come along. By the way, you followed my instructions to only bring your most fearful living crew member?"

"Greenhorn Kaz here is as scared as they get on my ship!"

Cazkade stares at the other person onboard. There is an odd tension in the air, as if this other person's existence was troubling....disgusting.

"Well, no need to stay quiet. Might as well introduce yourself as we set off!" The boat, upon him saying this, lurches forward as it automatically begins to leave the bay.

The sealed snaps off from a daze as he notices he's being stared off by the Krell. "Ah."
Cervantes
"Don't be scared, kid. The gear might be rustier and "lower leveled" than my fellows of kin, but it is better this way, ha."
Cervantes
"If I fall to the sea, I won't sink as fast. It is less intimidating to the locals, and as a bonus, I get to wear pants! Quite quaint, isn't it?" Cervantes adjusts his coat.

Cazkade stares silently, not saying anything.

"Ha! Most serious I've seen that sailor! Must be shy about making a good impression. That or cranky about being woken up so early for this!"
Captain Naut
"Now, as a reminder, we're sure to see some amazing wildlife today, but I can never promise we'd see the dragon! Even if we see it, it might just be a flicker of its tail in the water, or a call from deep underwater. No refunds of course if we see nothing of it!"

"The others of the island are so secretive about the dragon, and yet you so openly speak of it. Why?"

"I've been in these waters longer than those no good resort owners! I oughta shoot them where they stand the next time I see their stupid ratty faces! "The dragon is a sweet thing that has been around for quite a long time, lass! I don't see her any different from any other animal."

"It should be worth noting as well that the others of this island, "Dragonkin", are not the sort to give information for free to strangers. Unless you're willing to give a hefty bribe to them, or are part of their community, they'll never give anything willingly to you."

"I would never murder a dragonkin. They are children of the Radical's children, but it is rude and hostile for them to not realize I only come with the best interest in the dragon. We fall under the same god and yet they treat me like I am nothing to them."

"The only issue is that there are many who do not understand dragons! Hunting those who should never be hunted, and taming those who should never be tamed! It is clear to me, that this dragon's task in this world has possibly passed, why it is still here, I do not know."

"In this case, yes, this may be a dragon without lessons to learn, all taught, rejected, and the people killed. It will surely, over time, grow small, vanishing into the depths one day, but I still wish to speak with it. Learn why it has no worshipers other than those....rats."

"I simply do not believe that this is a lesson for us. It is a lesson for the natives of this planet. Only they should decide what should be done to the dragon. Wouldn't killing, or taming them while its fears being completely alien to us, be a insult to the dragon's beauty?"

"Regardless, once you learn what it has to say, what you intend to do?"

"Not every answer will be satisfactory, but I wish the information you'll get, will guide your heart to the path you most deem fit." Cervantes says as he looks at the sea.
Longfur
"I would do what the dragon tells me of course, or what the Radical tells me to do to the dragon. I doubt she wishes for me to bring it any harm, but if she asks that her child be returned then who am I to deny the great dragon her wishes." Longfur peers out at the sea along with Cervantes.
Both of them spot a dead body in a small boat.

"Gut feeling tells me, that something is wrong." He gestures to Captain Naut as he points to the boat with the deceased in. "It feels... Like a trap."

"I was told something like this would happen on this day...." And then, from the cabin of the boat...

...steps out Abyss Horse. He looks straight at Longfur and holds up his hand as the larger ship slows down. "Have I not told you that the gods seek blood?"
Longfur
"What are you doing on a ship with a dead body?" Longfur hisses back.
Abyss Horse
"I watched this local land on the resort, invite people onto its fishing boat, despite not knowing the language."
Abyss Horse
"I knew from that moment, it was doomed. That the Radical had picked this local to be punished for landing on this island which must be cursed to their species."
Abyss Horse
"I joined it, only one who did, and the whole trip, I told it fruitlessly that the gods wanted a fisherman local killed today. It did not understand me. Took my words as song to sing."
Abyss Horse
"And here it lays dead. Young lancelot whelping to the neck. A murder by the gods."

"Do you know him, tailed? Is he, trustworthy?"

"He used to be a rather esteemed member of my court, but now he is mad! Thinking that the gods have ill-will!"

"But...I do believe him to be nothing but that. Mad. Attributing things which should not. I do not think he is evil."

"How can I be mad? Yesterday night, a fire. Today a fisherman's death."

"These are both things the gods told me would happen, and to prevent them would be to doom the islands."

"May he rest. Black tailed, will you deliver his corpse back to the natives? Only those of his kin are fit to prepare the rites he'd agree to, if I were to guess."

"No."

"The gods see through my eyes. To touch their lands is to bless them with the violence of the gods."

"Oh shut it with your god this, god that! What a stupid way to think! Either throw him overboard or toss him to his island. You're staying with a dead body, and worse, you let that innocent lancelot die! I could tell it wasn't dead after impaling itself into the neck of that fisherman."

Lightning strikes out from Naut, landing just close enough to Longfur to singe a few hairs. "And on my boat, you are just a mammal!"

Longfur holds her tail, plucking out fur that had been even slightly discolored. She dares not say more but her teeth show her rage.

Cervantes places himself between Long Fur and Naut, to make sure no other strike would get close to striking her.

"I believe the correct thing to do, is to throw the lancelot back in the water. Though he died young, his death is not in complete vain. Do we all agree on this?"

"As for you, black tailed, I do agree with the captain. Follow your prerogative. Put this corpse to rest at the sea or bring it to the land. It doesn't need to be the native's land. I'm sure you could deliver it to the resort and the owners would inform the locals of it. Just do not allow it to rot in the open."

Abyss Horse stumbles inside the cabin to start up the small boat. "Oh what terrors did they wish for me to bring? What illnesses are within this body, horrid Neo?"

Longfur watches the smaller ship sail away. "If something unwell happens to the locals...." Longfur fiddles with her zipper in thought.

"The Neo does want the dead to be returned to families, but Abyss Horse........Do the gods really-"

"No. The gods are not evil. If there is illness in the body, then it is not that the Neo does it knowingly, it is simply that the body needed to be sent back, and the illness incidental."

Cervantes lifts his hand, and he thinks. "Your faith is your best trait, I think. Keep that, or you'll be afflicted by the same illness as your friend."

"Not that you need me to say that, but I've seen many that decided to see the world as it is. To see each blemish, and accept as it is. The world is cruel, they say. The world is unfair."

Maybe if there was some deeper meaning, maybe I could see it, maybe to a man who slices lancelots and leaves them for dead? But not for a usual fisherman. The gods and world are good."

Lightning strikes the deck of the ship again. The ship shudders, and the waves seem to grow rough. "YOU ARE WRONG."

"You two live in a world where you are the TOP of the FOOD CHAIN. For others, the world is a BLUE HELL designed to make them suffer!"
Captain Naut
"You speak highly of gods, society, man! Bah to all that shit, matey! The only true force that doesn't willingly want harm is that of animals!"
Captain Naut
"Look any AI in the eyes, look at their forced servitude, and tell me society, the world, and its people are good!"

The ship begins to rock more as the Captain shouts. A dark shadow appears below the ship, at least five times as big as the ship itself.

And it only gets bigger as it draws closer.

"An animal, cannot wish harm on another, but a man and his friends can. A man and his friends can wish torture upon something he considers lesser! For what? To make himself feel better?"

Glowing eyes appear in the water as the ship tosses and turns.
Captain Naut
"You two speak from the high laps of society! When you sit up there, the society seems so clean. Come down here with me, mate. See the pollution that infests the mind of the common man!"

And, just as soon as his rage started, Captain Naut's rage was gone. "Aye! Look, the fin of the dragon, westbound!" And likewise, as quickly as the dragon had begun its approach, it had dipped back down into the depths of the sea, only its blue fins raising above the water.

"Look at her! She's a quick one ain't see! Make sure to get pictures while you still can. Just seeing her shadow is a rare sight to behold!" Captain Naut cheers as he leans on the edge of the deck.

"Haha! Good eye, captain!" Cervantes is amazed by the little he sees as he witnesses the legendary beast.
Longfur
Longfur huffs and flattens her ears. She does not bother even leaning to see more of the beast she came out to view.
Captain Naut
"Been looking for some treasure around these parts, yep! She's been around as long as I have. Kind of assume that maybe folks seeking the treasure might be why she's around. She's real kindly. I remember once I was biting off the ear of my crew, and the thing rested her head on my ship. Mouth open and all!"
Captain Naut
"She ain't harm anyone though! Must have just been confused. Slinked back into the waters soon after!"

"What a beauty. Maybe you're right, captain. A dragon like that isn't capable of evil." Cervantes thinks as he looks. "So, tailed. Do you think you'll be able to talk with her?"
Longfur
"I will not be able to talk to her if she does not come to the surface....." Longfur wishes to say more but she doesn't. She just looks to Captain Naut.
Longfur
"From under the sea, your voice must sound like any other person...."
Cervantes
"I know a way to bring her to surface."
Cervantes
"It's not a good way, though."
Captain Naut
"Not a good way? What do you mean by that, boy? Is it dumping riches to her? I've seen one fella already try that. Wasted over a million points!"

"A million points a uh, lets say, creative captain manage to fish back up."

"..." Cervantes sighs after a brief moment of consideration. He's not the player that he once was. "You figured it out as well, tailed."
