The woods were something that most notail children would face in their life. Years would be spent in nature, understanding the horrors of the natural world, and finding companionship in your fellow notail.

Kids gathered together by the gates to this new world, laughing with friends, and being waved off by their M-classes, who took such great care of them up to this point.

But one child sat at the entrance alone.

Many children would wait a few hours, unsure if they were willing to take their first step. But this one had been waiting longer than that. Soon, the M-classes would force him to take his first steps. He seemed to be waiting for something. Anything.

[E-2153 approached the entrance with a chunk of his swarm, the group preparing to head in, their creatures and things in tow. A bunch of the other E-classes all start giggling, and E-2153 stomps his foot in frustration.]

Q-2756 punches the E-class without warning, before picking up his own supply bag and running back to the village, and away from the gates of the woods. There was nothing wrong with his M-class. Nothing. She had to be sick, or just too busy to come. When he got to the village he didn't stop to catch his breath, he pushed open the doors to his M-class and entered. Only to find her doing paperwork at her desk.
