Platzels are an intelligent species and are not in fact a pet. As platzels infect wandettles, platzels are often accidentally adopted. This works into the natural lifecycle of platzels, as the species do not care or raise for their brood, nor do they want to. Platzels are able to learn quite fast from their adopted parents and other than their sudden pilgrimages to infected wandettles are normal functioning members of most societies.
