Here be dragons.

Light years away from this planet, a navigator said this while tapping on a map. They had heard from others of the beasts that lived on the planet known as Neo-Kosmos. In fact, the navigator themself had sworn to have seen the dragon with their own eye...

Magenta wasn't the type to believe in these sorts of hunts. Usually people she met in those stations were full of nothing but horse-shit. Yet, something about this one did intrigue her.

Now that she landed, she has heard the tales as well, but she has also heard of another thing.

Osebeings.

Any pirate worth their salt knows the dangers of these beasts. They would also know how rare they are and how with the right buyer, such a pretty penny could be made. While this isn't a dragon, it's still an opportunity to big to ignore.

And thats why she scrounged up a team to do the dirty work for her!

Now none of these individuals were by any means professionals, nor would most of them be competent, but they have something that no one else has. A willingness to die. For whatever reason each one of these suckers was willing to put their neck on the line for a chance at the payday that this osebeing could offer.

And that was just fine and dandy with Magenta. Most of her crew had gotten drunk the day before like a bunch of worthless seals, but she had expected this. She finishes checking up the boat that she had bought for the group.

"Alright! She looks sturdy! Nets are loaded and everything! Now I marked the spots where the locals said they had seen this beast." She handed the map over to the Frilliz with the sun-goggles. "Any questions? Speak them now, cause I won't be there!"

Dark Building took the map giving, it a quick look over. "I got none." He looks over at the other crew members, waiting for their replies.

"...So you're not going to follow us on the trip itself?"

"Doesn't particularly matter to me, so long as I get paid. I was sort of assuming you would've been our captain, though."

Kuri looks around at the others, nodding her head.

"No questions here, boss!!! I'm ready to roll!"

Goonka and Gunker shake their heads in unison, indicating their lack of questions. "Ready when everyone else is," one of them says.

"Err... well this might sound silly, but believe it or not I get very seasick. While I'd love to chaperone you-" She pauses to think of a word before she decides to forgo the thought entirely.

"Anyways I'm sure you all are capable enough. Besides, I've worked with Dark Building before..."

"Anyways, I think you all are ready. Good luck! Make sure to bring the beast back alive or else..." She pauses for a second, "Or else there is no money of course! Anyways bon voyage as they say!"

"Oh boy, you guys ain't talkers eh? I can work with that!" Baud moseys on over to the ship with the rest of the crew.

Dark Building nods, but doesn't say much himself. He simply climbs onto the boat and waits for everyone else to pile on before starting the boat and heading out into the sea.
Dark Building rolls a 20 sided die. A 16 is rolled.
The seas are safe as the crew seeks out the osebeing.

In the distance, the creature stirred. Its rumbling mumbles had a tone of screeching come from it. As if people were trapped inside.

Dark Building moves out from the cabin of the ship, trying to get eyes on the beast. "One could hope. It's still a large beastie, hopefully those nets they gave us will work. Don't think I have a visual on it..." He turns to Googas, "You, gemimi, you said your phobe can speak with beasts? Get it to do that."

"Sure thing!" Gunker commands Zoophobia to use [Animal Translator].

The phobe flies around the great beast and attempts to listen to what it says.

The phobe doesn't hear anything it can understand, only screaming coming from the inside of the osebeing!

Screams that its [Animal Translator] ability cannot catch, for they are not from beasts.

The osebeing opens its mouth and snaps forward at the phobe.
The Osebeing rolls a 20 sided die with a modifier of +5. A 14 is rolled.
The osebeing grabs and crushes the phobe. It's thrown into the endless flames contained within. Screeches of the phobe are added to the sound of the osebeing.

"Now, how about you turn that ship around, and this kindly ole captain doesn't need to shoot you out of the water?"

He whistles to his galehaut which has been swimming alongside the boat, before talking to the rest of the crew. "Boys, this is gonna be a fight. Loons like this don't just walk away. Let's just hope, by the end of it, that robot gets some peace."

The galehaut struggles but manages to breach onboard. It uses its [Magnetic] pull to grab Captain Naut, but as the entire ship is made of metal it has a hard time controlling its pull. "Now you've done it. CREW! AIM THE NETS AT THEM! DRAG THEM INTO THE OCEAN!"

Goldtongue fires the net across the sea and at the other boat. If Naut's ship can catch osebeings, it could catch a rental ship like this with ease. It's not a direct hit, but the net does hook into part of the ship, disallowing them from driving.

"Shit." Dark Building hisses looking around his own ship. "All of you all! Try to board the ship or send your creatures to attack! It's them or us! Someone try to get that net off of us!"

He then looks upwards and calls to his Galehaut, commanding it, "FINLY, DRAG THAT OVERSIZED WASHING MACHINE DOWN TO THE SEA!"

"Gladly, captain! Nothing quite like boarding to get that real pirate feel going, eh?"

Pradero climbs the net towards the Nemo!

Baudelaire follows suit, straight twards the ship!

"Heh. Been too long since I've had a real fight." Googas attempts to climb the net to the ship!

"Sounds fun." Kuri follows her crewmates in attempting to board the ship!

The putley sneers as she reloads the net, even if not to use right away.

The two kafkils bite the galehaut doing a small amount of damage, but the galehaut manages to roll them off quickly.

The net? "Hook."

The captain, taunting? "Line-"

She brings her tail to her mouth in a simile of muffling a laugh, looking at the opposing crew. "And sinker!"

He stops staring at the water where Pierre was devouring one of his crew members. "JUST FUCKING SWIM FASTER!!!"

The cannon fires upon Pradero! Pradero is paralyzed by the electrical force and begins to sink in the water.

Pierre disappears into the water. Seconds later so does Googas.

Eliza makes mental note of the fact vampwelves can fly. It'd take an idiot to forget that much. Surely, even in a worst case scenario she wouldn't fall into the ocean and become shark bait.

"Now you've made a mistake, lads!" The galehaut attempts to grab Captain Naut again, but slams its head into the ship, knocking itself out. Captain Naut's shoulder piece flips open, showing a gun behind it. "Every Poseidon unit has two things."

"A fish in the chest, and a CANNON on their shoulder!"

The galehaut is instantly fried by Captain Naut's attack.

"Who else wants a piece of this!?! Come here lads! Ain't no need to be scared of an old man from the sea!"
But then, Captain Naut's ship begins to move away from the fight.

"I DIDN'T ORDER A RETREAT! WHICH ONE OF YOU FOOLS IS SENDING HER BACKWARDS?"

"We're all on deck and accounted for-" The putley stops, peering down the control center, having lost track of the tailed from earlier.

Captain Naut's cannon malfunctions. Instead of shooting out energy, it shoots out a piece of the cannon itself. "Ugh! This is unrelated to your predictions! I need repairs is all." Naut points to his crew. "One of you! Kill that piece of driftwood!"

Eliza rushes to the ship's cannon as it slowly drifts away from the dead man floating. She wasn't a cannoneer by any means, merely a navigator, well versed in reading stars, and yet, she thought, a vampwelf is nothing if not near and dear to blood.

"TO SMITHEREENS!"
Eliza Elzenstein rolls a 20 sided die with a modifier of -20. A -5 is rolled.

The cannon Eliza Elzenstein is using shoots out a pitiful bolt that doesn't even reach half way to the target before it fizzles out.

Goldtongue winces at the malfunction of the ship, and of cannon on the captain. She scribbles upon a small piece of scrap, noting to check the cannons once ashore, and keep track of the previous repairs for the vessel.

The entire thing is eerie, how still the ship becomes when lightning isn't coursing through it.

The crew of Captain Naut is forced to sail away, while the pirates approach the osebeing.

The Osebeing
The osebeing opens its mouth, the groans and cries of a hundred souls whimper out of it as the ship approaches it. It attempts to set the ship on fire.
The Osebeing rolls a 20 sided die with a modifier of +5. A 14 is rolled.

The osebeing successfully sets the entire ship on fire! The screams get louder!
Dark Building
"Fuckin' hell. This shit gets worse and worse." He looks around the ship. This thing had fire, a net wouldn't likely catch it. Not to mention looking over the nets are on fire as well. He tries to fathom what he could do here, but he likely will have to resort to taming.

He doesn't like sitting on a burning ship, but he's hoping what the Tailed said was true.

Dark Building tries to watch the Osebeing in some sort of hope he could figure out what it wants.

The Osebeing
Dark Building tries to look deeper at the osebeing, but there was nothing else to learn. It was a giant ship corrupted into a creature. The voices inside of it are groaning in pain and fear, and there's small clicks of an SOS coming from multiple parts of the beast.

He... isn't sure what to do. He feels helpless in this scenario. Listening to the cries of the Osebeing itself reminded him of the short future the rest of the crew had. The S.O.S. signal burns in his mind. His own ship was burning. Soon it would be sinking as well. He considers tapping out a message to the Osebeing in morse code as well, but he is not even sure if that would work. It's the end of the line one way or another, so he just tries. Hoping that this whole adventure, all of those deaths, weren't just for nothing. Ah well, just go with your gut.

He walks up to the front of the ship. He tries to pound his fists onto the ship in response to the S.O.S. Trying to remember what the specific dots and stops would translate to pounding fists on wood. After he sends out the message he speaks in return, "S.O.S. recieved we are here to bring you back to shore! We are here to help!"
The Osebeing
The osebeing looks down at Dark Building. It seems like it's waiting for him to do something. The SOS has been replied to, but it needs to see that this captain knows what to do.

His own ship was burning, he didn't know what to do. The Osebeing was waiting for something. He looks to try to find something to attach to the osebeing. Once he finds something he loops it tossing it onto the Osebeing, that way he can attach it to the boat and help bring it back to shore. Even if the boat he has is burning.

The osebeing opens its mouth. Flames pour out of it. It reaches up and snaps the rope and turns around, sinking into the water as it did a long time ago. The osebeing had failed to be captured.
Far off, Captain Naut watches from his telescope.
