He loved to preach. Day and night, he preached to criminals as much as he did to those investors. But he did have a secret of his own to hide.

As he returned to his room after preaching, he placed his cross on the wall next to his desk, and pulled out it.

He had been going through the Bible, sneaking in reads for the last few months whenever he had time. The stories told within them excited him and brought joy to his heart. He wanted to know the best things to preach, and the Bible had them all!

But this section.......confused him. He flipped through the pages growing more and more worried. Betrayal! Betrayal at every section! But surely.......
????

He shuts the Bible as if a foul spider had leapt out of it. His bleeding heart raced. He tried to make sense of it all, but his mind clicked into place. He felt nothing but anger.

He grabbed the cross and rushed forth into the dining hall, Bible in hand. "You.....you all INTEND ON KILLING ME? THIS IS WHAT YOUR GOAL IS?"

Peter grinds his teeth. "Jesus! You weren't supposed to read the Bible."
Jesus
"And I see why now! You speak of these rules, and I BELIEVED YOU! You intend on my DEATH!"

Peter takes a deep breath. "For the betterment of us all, Jesus!"

James pauses for a mere moment before reaching for his rifle.

Judas notices and in one quick moment raises his hands, "accidently" knocking the rifle to the ground.

Judas
"A-ah, Jesus, do listen to me, it wasn't any of their ideas, it was mine!" It was not.
Jesus
"You.....You attached me to the device of my death!"

Jesus rips off the veins that link him to the cross before picking up the thing and tossing it on the table.

Jesus
"You might have planned it, but you all KNEW what would happen to me! You spoke highly about this book, and now you act like you and it are not joined in forces!"

While James hisses at Judas, in truth he is glad Judas had stopped him. He did not believe it was right to shoot Jesus, but he did not know what else to do but follow Peter's words in that moment.

"Your death, is for the betterment of everyone, Jesus."

"Please, Jesus, you might understand. You MUST die to save everyone. It is not a true death, you didn't rea-"

"I HAVE READ ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT WHILE YOU SPEAK MERRY WITH ME YOU ALL ARE CRAFTING MY DEMISE!"

"What else have you all hidden from me......" Suddenly he remembers one other area he is forbidden from. Blood leaking down his hands, he marches outside, towards the graveyard.

Peter shoves Judas as he chases after Jesus. He doesn't need to say for what reason.

Jesus arrives at the end of the graveyard, and sees the giant bones that litter the landscape. Only then does Peter catch up.

"Tell me, Peter! What are these?"

"Jesus, lets just go back inside."

Jesus grabs Peter and tosses him closer to the skeletons that dwarf his form. "WHAT ARE THEY. PETER?"

"Fine, you want to know? They're Dead Gods! Failures! Just like you!"

"You think YOUR LIFE is worth more than curing the madness that afflicts BILLIONS of clockworks? This project will change the UNIVERSE and you're upset because you will have to die for it to work?"

"One man's life is WORTH the salvation of EVERYONE ELSE."

"Because we need a God who will be docile, obedient, and who will listen to Our Words as gospel. We have tried before."

"A God who is obedient because we have asked Him to be is a God who will disobey us when it realizes there is nothing between Him and the freedom to be overcome by His Hunger."

"You've seen the Bible! Floods! Fire from the sky! God will MURDER us when He wishes!"

"Just like these failures tried before."

"We need a God who will produce the holy blood and flesh and allow mass harvesting without complaint."

"The little you produce now will cure maybe 30 people a day!"

"But there's billions out there consumed by the madness."

"AND YOU HAVE NOW DAMNED ALL OF THEM TO HELL, JESUS!"

James doesn't want Jesus to be angry with him. He has seen what has happened before. ".....It was not my idea-" He lied. "But...I believe the idea is that Jesus did not need to read the Bible to know the right things to say."
