Death lingered in the empty halls of the massive Zoocorp HQ. Following the mass layoffs, there was no reason for employees to bother coming in to work. More importantly, there was nobody to stop his troupe from waltzing right up to the elevator.
Nobody but a small handful of clowns and artists.

Minze sets her whole crew on fire!

Strokkur, Sparks, Enforcer, and Minze are set on fire. Enforcer and Minze don't seem to notice though.....
XoXo, Seven, and Byrel are set on fire! Byrel hasn't noticed yet.

Right before they go in the hole, D'arc drops a anchor and takes the rope, wrapping his wrist on it. Fancy thing he had prepared, just in case, isn't it?

Enforcer passively uses [Enforcer] causing all dice from the enemy team that are buffed by more than +5 are lowered to just +5! Life's +100 attack will now ALWAYS heal just 15 flat!

Strokkur is healed and hurt by the flames! (23/20)

The entire ZooCorp shakes. A bright light erupts out of the machine. Everyone is knocked back in the blast. Including the entire roof.

The roof and the walls crack under the contained blast. It erupts through the machine. Wires and gears are turned to scrap, and the walls crumple as the entire top floor is left exposed to the elements. The two creatures that stayed on the ceiling of the room primed and ready for battle are obliterated in an instant, and Life is smashed with the falling stones, including one shot that rips through its body.

Herr has been slain!
The 7th beast has been slain!
Ray has been slain!

He targets the corpses, teeth bared.

In the midst of the disaster, Death gorges himself, prying flesh from shell from bone. As he pulls away from the corpses, a solid form underneath the flesh of his shoulders shift around.

From the stump of where his prosthetic attached, a pile of bleach-white bones explode forth, slamming heavy into the surrounding rubble. The mound briefly weighs him down, but as Death moves to clutch his missing arm, the pile is pulled along by an invisible force.

As D'arc starts falling, he takes out a rope and throws it in direction of Helpy while he wraps his wrist on one of the ends. "Be ready to pull soon, this one'll be a lot of people..."

The void inside of Sparks becomes smaller and smaller as organs form around the group, attaching them all. The rope is ejected as foreign matter, but the people and pets within become a part of Sparks.

Sparks (And D'arc, and Byrel, and all the other creatures that were within, as they are all the same being now) lands on the floor safely, the flames acting as a cushion. Sparks clatters and raises its leg to scratch his body. Finally whole once more.

Sparks has lost [???]

Fortuna. In all her spite, had called DEATH to FAIL.

He briefly glimpsed color against the flames, but as he pulled away, nothing.

Death had missed his mark. His arm of bones, of those who had left this world, passed under Life.

Waves of anger and woe brought the god to a standstill. But some suffocated part of his mind lingered on a thought.

He imagined Helen and her crew, just below them.
He imagined Larp, her son, her wife, his family.
He imagined XoXo. He imagined Pidge.
All snuffed out with the universe, because he couldn't help himself. He was so, so angry. But most of all, he resented the pangs of empathy that want his son back.
