BELIEVE IN A FAN
[OMORI OST - 044 Where We Used To Play [Extended]]
The community manager enters Longfur's home. "Hello everyone, I hope you're having an amazing day!"
"Hey welcome back Fan! I wanted to thank you for being a test subject."
"Today rocked! We tagged a bunch of anomalies!"
"No need to thank me, I'm happy as long as you are!"
"Plus, it was nice being involved in one of the other community events for once. What did you folks catch?"
"Can you two keep your voices down?"
"Sorry for the rudeness, but the weather report is on, and you know us Radicals and our weather reports. 0ω0"
"There hasn't been a single rain storm in weeks....."
"I think it's fine if they want to chatter over their recent adventures, personally. I realize we're all quite old but it does give you a feeling of youth, doesn't it?"
"Do chatter in another room though, please. We're trying to watch something here."
"Honestly, I think you're all going to want to listen to here. There's some amazing anomalies on this planet!"
"Plus........it's not going to rain today. There's not a single cloud in the sky."
"The Radical forsakes us once again. 0ω0"
"When will we hear her thunderous boom once more........"
Grams glances over at the shapeshifter tailed priest with unimaginable power at the mention of amazing anomalies in the planet. Yeah? You'd think there would be.
"Oh come on Gran. Lets hear her out."
"Aren't you all waiting for the Radical's revival anyways? Do they announce that kind of thing in the weather section of the news?"
"The revival of the Radical will come with a great storm, and we are awaiting it!"
"We wouldn't have to wait if someone would just tell us when it's going to happen!"
The Poetnix opens his beak to talk, but opts to just sigh instead.
"Fine, if you're so sure the great storm isn't upon us, let's listen to your boring tale."
"I agree with the horrible one! Let's hear it!"
"Well we did meet up with this Hint AI."
"At first I thought today was going to be a wash. He had some weird predictions, but I think he just was abnormally friendly, not an anomaly."
"His hairdo though-"
"..........." The Poetnix looks visibly shaken.
"The jury is still out if that part of him is anomalous!"
"But after that? We found these amazing anomalies!"
"One of them was called Vodka. She teleported organs out of people's bodies and made new creatures with them."
"Sounds like my kind of anomaly."
"That's not too special. I do that all the time."
"Granted, I must rip them out."
"You do, and that's why I love you, Dear."
Longfur swishes her tail and basks in her wife's appreciation.
"Hey, that likely means they're a Radical anomaly! 0ω0"
"Hmm you are correct. Maybe it would be worth catching."
"Oh, 100% they were a Radical anomaly! She had a parent and when she called for her parent to help her-"
"-there was this intense wave of power! It was easily one of the most powerful anomalies I've ever come across!"
"I didn't get to tag the adult, but I did get a tag on the child!"
".............................................................."
"Oh Poetnix. I see why you didn't tell me......You wanted to be thematic. For it to happen naturally...."
("And now you're ruining that by mentioning it out loud mmmmmmmm.....")
"Lot'br. You did not come across a Radical anomaly. You came across the Radical herself!"
"She must be in the process of returning to her true form."
"Nature is healing! 0ω0"
"I never thought I'd be the one to discover a god in the flesh!"
"No offense Poetnix, but you weren't disguised when I met you."
"I'm not even good at disguises anyway."
"My Dear sort of ruined your reveal by just telling me who you were outright when we first met. Don't put yourself down, dear, I don't think I'd have guessed it without her help."
"That's nice of you to say but my disguise..."
"Is literally a poet phoenix."
"Well to be fair, your muse is so good, you don't realize it's a cardboard cut out until someone tells you so! 0ω0"
"Really?"
".................Why am I not excited by your words?"
"Folks, the Radical is upon us and we're giving the Poetnix a pep talk!"
"Lot'br, hand me the tracker!"
"Do we have to bring the Radical into this?"
"Can't we just let the rest of the event play out without her?"
"Poetnix, there are only two people I care about in this universe. The Radical-"
"And my wife."
"You are not either of those."
"I........."
"Understand." The Poetnix shuffles to the door.
"Where are you going?"
"To talk to a friend."

The Poetnix leaves.

"He has friends?"
"Do his muses count? You don't think he's pathetic enough to talk to himself, right?"
"To be perfectly honest, I thought we were the only people he knew. 0ω0"
"Oh you're right! He's going to talk to himself."

"This is why the Radical is a better god than the Poetnix. She doesn't talk to her characters and muses."
"Anyway, do give me the tracker, Lot'br. I must see the Radical in the flesh!"
"You're not going to harm her, right?"
"Do you mock me, Lot'br? This is my god. I want her safely with me, instead of outside with those Limboist animals!"
"I guess you're right. If they figure out she's a god, hell, if they figure out she's an anomaly I don't know what they'll do."
"Limboists cannot be trusted."
"If I told you what they do to anomalies like her, you wouldn't have even let her out of your sight."
"You're right. Here's the tracker info. Make sure she stays safe, alright?"
"You might be a piece of shit, but you're a powerful piece of shit with the Radical's best interests in mind."
"Thank you for the compliment."
"I'm going to make sure I verify that these two are the Radical first. If I were to make the mistake of calling nobodies my god then the Radical would strike me down where I stand!"
"By the way Lot'br....."
"You haven't finished your work on the machine yet."
"Yeah, yeah. Geez, sue me for wanting to go outside after 10,000 years of being frozen. I'll get to it."

Lot'br leaves Longfur's home.

"It looks like I have some people watching to do later."
"Would you like to come with me, Gran? We can harass the artist alley while we're there."
"They have so little money, that stealing from them hurts more than stealing from a bank."
"Oh, you know me so well, Dear. Gladly."
"It is a date then, my love."
