The xevoltins are considered pets for peasants. These loyal creatures are most handy with a rope and carrying objects, allowing them to assist with everyday tasks. In the wild they use their skillset to make swings in trees. These lookout spots are not only safe, but allow an xevoltin to find potential prey. When an unlucky victim walks under them, the xevoltin will scream "FEY! FEY! FEY!" summoning a riot of others.

While a lone xevoltin is a weak creature, a group can overcome any beast, placing a swing around their neck and raising them back into the trees. The vampwelfs believe that due to their alarm call that the xevoltins are the judges of nature, running trials for beasts and executing them for the crime of being a fey.
