The investigator and her backup walk up the staircase attached to the ship. As they approched the deck, she waves her hand to show she's safe. "Woop woop! Greetings sailors, how are you doing this fine day?"

A degraded swollow with the morph of a kiwi stands at the top of the staircase, temporarily barring entry as he glares down at the two newcomers with suspicion.
????
Then he smiles, stepping aside as the two clearly pose no threat. "Hiya, I'm good! I've just been standing here waiting and waiting, and then you guys showed up! I'm less bored now!"

"Are you both here to join the crew?"
Investigator
The sunny day quickly turns to into a light nightly shower as the Investigator steps on deck. "Hmmp. Always feels like a storm follows me wherever I go."
Cowboy
Cowboy looks around, confused. As an robot he is not affected by the "roleplay" powers of the Investigator.

"Are you both here to join the crew?" He repeats, with the exact same intonation.
Investigator
"We're not here to join your crew, but, perhaps we can help out? My name is the Investigator, and my co-partner here is the Detective."

("Please don't change my name.") But the Detective knew it was too late.

"We heard you had a mystery on your hands. Hunting down an artifact of unknown power? Bringing back creatures that disappeared? You wouldn't mind if we discussed these matters with your captain and crew, would you?"

"Name's Pinpin, but you can call me Pin! But my name is Pinpin, just to be clear. Let me take you to the Captain!" Pinpin waves the two along with a foot and leads them into the innards of the ship.

"Thank you, darling Pinpin." The investigator smiles to the Detective as they're brought into the ship.
Captain Naut
The group reaches a large room meant for relaxing, cooking, and casual meetings. A small crew, including the target, stand around Captain Naut, but before the group could get close enough to hear what the meeting was about, one of the crew members growls.
Pierre
"Rrrrrrmmm! Baaaaaad!" Pierre clicks his jaw together as the crew turns to face the duo. He points to the Investigator.

("What could have possibly upset them?!?!")

The Detective looks up and down at the Investigator, but dares not challenge her. While to most people she was an aftik, to AIs and special types of species she was nothing but a marsue in an ill-fitting trench coat. A type of mind changing crocodilian.

The crawler standing just left to the Captain with his hands folded behind his back, glances slowly over towards the pair, and sighs. "Have we are have we not.. spoken, about this, Pin? Letting whomever and whatever inside.."

The putley eyes the new intrusion of the pair.

"New faces already? We've barely prepped the cabin for our newest recruit."

"But- But the Captain said I was to stand guard and not let anyone suspicious on board."

"These guys aren't suspicious so... I let them on board."
Pinpin
"Did I do something wrong Captain?"

Captain Naut silently stares at the intruders. He can clearly see through the facade that the marsue has created....

Yu argues back and forth in their mind if they should call out Cargo for being paranoid or asking for help. The direct confrontation from Cargo makes them feel horrible. They honestly didn't think they were being rude, but didn't know how to word it.

The silence from Yu's end is enough to let Cowboy know he has to cut in. "Cargo, I honestly agree that Yu should join the party as soon as possible, but I don't think it matters much if we let them do their own thing for a small bit."
