Location: 21:00, circling the tower

"There was somebody on the crown block. Not a worker, just some woman. We don't know when, we don't know how. It was late, so a couple of the floor hands made a start up the ladder to get her someplace safer, and then- darkness. Like somebody cut the power.

We were all craning our necks up to see her - that's when the stars themselves began to shift around, like some great, awful fissure in the sky. Then, it appeared, incandescent purple, piercing right through us and swiping down close enough to knock us into the ocean. Like it was trying to say, "How dare you touch her?" How dare we even look at her? Felt like a century, but by the time they were gone, it was only 7 minutes. Gone in a crackle of light, power restored to the rig. Nobody left on the crown. I know about the fish, but that woman... it was too real to be a mirage. They felt lost... But she was never in danger. Gotta wonder where they've gone to now."
