Longfur tosses the cage with the others before locking the dimly lit room. The rabbit, formally known as O-11, shakes in fear, having been subjected to unspeakable horrors. He doesn't even realize that there are other people in the room.

Something in a cage rattles, and alerts his neighbors in the room. Other animals chatter and whine, complain to Longfur who's calls would fall on deaf ears. In a cage to O-11's right, a bird peers out towards the tailed... then over at the rabbit.

...For the moment he was silent, waiting for Longfur to finish her business, if anyone would be picked out of their cage and taken as an object.

The rabbit looks directly at the mushbird, unwavering in its stare. It doesn't flinch as Longfur roughly pulls a cage across the room, another animal off to be turned into whatever object Longfur needed to be supplied in her house.

When Longfur leaves, the rabbit says only one thing. "Kill me."

"...."

Pidge gets up from their resting spot to get a closer look at their neighbor. It was silent for a moment longer.. until something unexpected happens- the mushbird Laughs. Soft, wheezing laughter.

"...NNhh.. hehh.. you.. you. Th-the rabbit.."

O-11 sits there, attempting to process what this creature was telling him. He had more important matters on his mind right now. Still.... "W-Who are you? OwO"

"It's.. hmm. It's been a long time.. you likely w-wouldn't.. remember.."

Pidge leans against the bars. "Mhh.. I-I wass.. a prince ooonce.. And- mh. I remember yhh. You q-quite clearly."

"..You want. You wwant out. J-just as much as I. I'll.. mgh. I can free you. Not now."

"I re-require. Cooperation. Of you. All that-that I ask, rabbit."

O-11 tilts his head. "A prince....I don't know many princes I'm- so-sorry. I don't who you are." Something felt so familiar about the person before him, but he couldn't put his finger on it.

"I-I uh do-don't want freedom. I wan...I want death."

"N-not even.. mgh.. your form Rrr-rrestored? No?"
O-11
O-11 begins to shake. "I have died a million deaths today. The tailed....the-their god machines......"

"I-I-It's...so...so much worse th-than we could have ever thought."

"My b-body has been used to power this fes-mmfestival. You have to free me. You have to kill me."

"I can't-I can't live like t-th-this! My life before being put into the machine felt like a second compared to the million lives I lived within it."

"Mhh.." Pidge paces in their cage, mumbling.. "..y-you've been.. Ev-everywhere in.. my-my life. Y-you have no idea how long.. d-dreaming of a moment like this.."

"...I can k-kill you. I could.." ..It would be too easy..

"...Oh.. oohh-11.. if only I could rr-reach through these b-bbars..

O-11 instinctally presses himself closer to the bars. He didn't know who this person was, but in this moment there was nothing he wanted more than to have this person grab him, and rip him apart.

"Who are you? Did the n-n-notails kill your mmmgh spec-species?"

"........................."
O-11
"You should kill me for th-that. I would- would deserve it you uh know."
Pidge
"Not yet!" Pidge snaps and hisses at him. "N-not yet! Not yet! Y-yyou want to die, Rabbit? Mm-make it so easy ff-for me?"
O-11
"Yes."
O-11
"Do you want me to b-beg.......I-I'll do anything."
Pidge
"Th-then you. Earn your- your r-right to die. B-bbe cooperative. I want.. To.. Savor this."

"No please-ple-please!"

"Patience." Pidge huffs.. and starts preening himself. "...S-sssomeone. Will come. That.. I promise.."
O-11
"Who are you?"

"...............................................................Ex-Lover."

...Pidge felt very anti-climatic putting it so bluntly.
O-11
"B-Buckingham?......." O-11 pressed a paw though the bar, reaching out as far as he could go.

In that moment, he didn't care that this Buckingham was....one that was ruined. Turned into a clockwork before his eyes.
A Buckingham that he had abandoned to die.

A Buckingham that he had created a clone to take his place of.
After a million deaths, the idea of Buckingham was the only glimmer of hope in his life. He didn't care. He just wanted to hold him, no matter what he looked like.


....no matter if it was a "ruined one".

"......N-nnot.. Buckingham..." Pidge hisses through his teeth. "..P-pidge. P- Pidge. Pidge. Hh-ardly buckingham. Mh."

It didn't matter, it didn't! Not to O-11. After a million deaths he refused to see the facts, he refused to accept what reality had laid out for him. "Buckingham- I..I missed you. I never-never-nev-never thought I would see you again."

"Yyou no-nolonger know me."

"I don't care."

"Pl-please just hold my-my hand. Please?"

The room is cold, and dim. Other animals chatter in the background, and pidge is left staring at the black eyes of a rabbit. Gradually, with one foot he'd reach out like a shaking hand through the bars...
Pidge yanks the rabbit closer, his own face pressed up against his side, gripping tightly.

"You. Are mine. We leave tth-this place, and... you die, when I say you die."

As they touched, nothing else mattered. O-11 held on as tightly as his paw would let him, scared of ever letting go. Even as his face slammed into the bars by the yank he has no reaction other than pure love and joy.

He hasn't been able to get in contact with someone for a million deaths.

And he wasn't going to let go of this one if he could.

"I am yours. I-I am yours. I die when-when you say I die."

"I love you, Buckingham."

The other didn't let go, even after O-11 agreed. There was nothing left to be said, the two spending hours after still pressed against their cages. Waiting... because Pidge knew, someone eventually will come...
