POLITICAL RECKONING
[champagne tap - Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator]
The votes were in. Tuxedo, Big Bad Wolf, and surprising Az would be moving on to the final round.
Az looks themselves in the mirror, fixing their tie, making sure they smiled in a way people would expect and accept. It was going to be hard to pull "I'm just like the rest of you" after slicing a man open on live tv just the other day. Some headlines declared Az a political plant for the Wolf, some called Az a savior.....

"You're smile is too large, and you're leaning a little too much to the left!" Az assistant, a snail by the name of "Three" corrected. As a snail, he knew what he was talking about when it came to mimicking social standards.
"Been around for so many years and I'm still messing up. Maybe people on the moon smiled a bit larger, haha." Az notices Boe finish talking backstage with Tuxedo. They quickly slink over, raising their hand to grab attention. "Hey Boe, wait up. I wanted to discuss with you your stances on citizen ships."
Boe seemed apprehensive, and frankly annoyed. She nearly turns away from Az, but halts when she sees his assistant, Three.
That short delay was just enough for Az to trap her into a pitch. "Look, I get you Boe. The sea, that's a nasty place. Your plans were good, they were too good. People just don't want to give up their personal property. Men work their whole lives to get a ship. You know, that's like a 10 year investment, maybe more if you're not a good saver."
Boe opens her mouth, ready to snap back.
"Next time, let's go a little slower yeah? It's hard to get the ball rolling, so here's what I'm thinking, you ask me during the debate what I'm going to do about sea deaths. Then, I can get a new platform rolling. Cause you had this issue with your own, didn't know how you were going to refund all those ships without raising taxes."
"Well, inspired by you, I want to introduce a new bill. "Ship buy backs." We keep it simple, we keep it smooth. No one is forced to sell their ships, but we get companies to sponsor buying back ships instead. Ships out the ocean, companies handle the processing of ships, easy peasy, and the people won't have to put a cent into buying the ships themselves."
"That won't take all the ships out of the oceans, and it sounds like you want to buy all the metal for your company." Boe accuses.
Az puts their hands up. "You got me, but politics aren't about black and white. Do you want to be accused of forcing rights away from people, or do you want to known as that guy who was willing to listen to all sides? Look, all I'm saying is, you're right, citizen ships can't be on the oceans, but humans, they want the right to live the way they want to live. You gotta let them do it."
"As for that second statement, well it's true, but is that so bad? See I was listening to you Boe, and trust me, I didn't know a single thing about just how bad it was on that island. I was going to be seeking to raise more labor there you know?"
"So think about it, we can avoid that, by just buying out those dang ships you don't want. Two birds with one stone. No pun intended."
Boe thinks it over, she stares at the assistant and speaks. "There is no way you did not know of the plights of the miners, your secretary from that island. You're lying to make it seem like you're being nice!"
Three points at the ground and stomps. "Fuck everyone on that damn island. You think I care if they suffer?"
"My secretary's statements do not reflect the thoughts of feelings of A to Z Tech, our supporters, or those who are employed at it."
"But I hope his statement helps."
"How could you say such a thing? The people miss you Three. Especially your parents."
"You know why that island is in a mess? It's because it's all about "Family this" "Found family that." But if you're not with them, you're against them! They're suffering because it's all about "suck it up or get out" and guess what, everyone is getting out!" He spits.
"Who could have expected that an island hostile to newcomers has a labor shortage! This isn't a political issue, this is THEIR ISSUE. You people can solve it before you come asking for help with all of this!"
"And tell my mother to fuck off! Don't bother telling my father anything, it'll go through one ear and out the other."
"Your mother has been making an effort to-"
"My mother should have made an effort AGES AGO! Don't even finish your statement."
"She was busy-"
"Oh right? Busy huh? Working at that damn island! Let it fucking fail. That's what that island needs. FAILURE. That way everyone can see how rotten to the core it is."
Az gets between Boe and Three. "Let it be known that I do not take Three's statements into account when it comes to my political stance. Boe my friend, we need to get you up to speed on thinking on your feet. If my assistant can debate lock you, then imagine what would have happened between you and Big Bad Wolf on stage."
"I don't agree with Three's statements. Working in the mines is hard labor, I think it's going to have a much different culture than most work places. We need studies done. Interviews. Get down to the root of the issue."
"But that's not my platform here."
"Might be yours next election cycle? Remember Boe, it's about give and take. You just have to make sure you're always taking a little more than you're giving back."
"I have much to learn. Being a boeing....it is hard to learn human customs and ideas despite my attempts....In my culture, things are much more black and white. Damage and death should always be negated. Personal freedoms going above the chance of death is no such thing."
"Look, if I win the election, maybe fly over to my office. We'll talk. Ok? And look, I hope Three's parents aren't taking this too harshly. Raising a child is hard, ok? I should know, my own daughter hates my guts."
"...................................................."
"What."
"I swear, everyone always jumps to being surprised. I built a daughter, don't get it confused."
"I do everything for my sweet baby girl but you never know how your child feels about you until it's too late it feels. Haha."
"What does she hate you for?"
"Oh, you know, the typical reasons. I've been putting a little too much expectations on her."
"Been talking about sending her to space. Becoming a satellite, you see."
"We're back with the final debates! I'm sure everyone saw the votes this morning finally roll in, but our final debaters are Tuxedo, Az, and Big Bad Wolf!"
"We're accepting debate questions from around the globelike, thing! So turn on your devices, and people watching live, flag down an assistant to get in line! Candidates, how are you feeling?"
"I do my best in quick debates. We'll see how I shine today. This will be easier than yesterday." Tuxedo nods with confidence.
"Optimal. Lets avoid bloodshed and have a debate that improves humanity no matter who wins."
The Big Bad Wolf cracks his knuckles. "I'm ready to say what the people REALLY want to say but are too scared of what others might think."
"Perfect, then lets get this rolling!"
FINAL DEBATE
[V3 DANGANRONPA-HOPE VS DESPAIR-]
"Tuxedo, while your competitors have made grand promises and shown how they've wanted to make change, you have been rather conservative in comparison, what are you gonna do if elected to adress the issues they brought up?"
"My competitors are making promises and setting exceptions that are completely unreasonable. I do not need to humor Big Bad Wolf's campaign of "Kill everyone" because it is absolute and UTTER poppycock. I won't even begin to start with why, because I know it will be ripped apart soon by further questioning."
"As for Az's satellite, I do not believe we should engage with such matters until we can further education and make a deal with the Sun directly. Why build the satellite ourselves when surely the Sun can provide the minerals and instruction for one?"
"The Sun can't provide what we're looking for."

"I cannot counter you because I don't know the inner details of your plans due to you being a private corporation, something the people need to take in account when voting." Tuxedo states plainly.
The next questioner dials in, and there's a lot of wind whistling through the other end of the phone.

"Uh, hi, yeah, hang on- ok. Sorry. Landed."
"Ok so. Question for Az. Let's assume you're voted in, our tax dollars are put to good use and you get your outcomes on a reasonable timeline so your plan to get humans into space works. Are you planning to move all of humanity to new worlds, or just an insurance population?"
"This is simply an insurance policy. There will be no forced relocation of the population, after all, I won't be president anymore by the time we start seeing real results, which I think will be a good thing."
"I want the humans of the future to decide what happens to them, but I want to make sure that choice is ready and open no matter what. If humans want to leave Earth, that's up to them to decide, but the roads should always be open."
"About what I was guessing. Arright. Follow-up questions:"

"For the humans who remain on Earth, will they be guaranteed free and unfettered movement between Earth and our future outposts, or will AZ tech get to make decisions about who gets to make the move? Where do the quarantine systems established by the Sun factor into that? Are you willing and capable to meet with the Sun to determine those migration procedures?"
"Also, assuming we're going to find another planet or such, how do you stop the singularities from dropping another prisoner on your insurance population?"
"Once again, these are questions for future candidates to decide. While A to Z Tech will be providing pathways, we will once again, not engage in who has the right to move or not. We'll manage the tech, not the people. Hopefully future candidates will agree with the way A to Z sees it, which is we should not limit who can and cannot have the freedom to move."
"For your next question, I will not be humoring it. This is a lot of "Ifs and Buts" and I'm sure if you ask the other candidates the same question on how to control the beings from above, they'd offer the same response. No comment."
"Speak for yourself! I'd kill them!"
"Forgot you were here, my bad."

A spider girl looks nervously, holding a paper. "Um, yes, hello Mr. Big Bad, I know that your campaign is largely on killing the aliens, but what about those that don't pose any threat, and are here against their will? The prisoners are much like you and the people in the pens, at the end of the day we all are people under the same system.
"WE ARE NOT FUCKING PEOPLE UNDER THE SAME SYSTEM YOU IDIOT!" The Big Bad Wolf snaps.
"You're one of those singularity apologists aren't you? You think that singularities who trample us, who hurt us are fucking "one of us." HUMANS ARE NOT FUCKING SINGULARITIES! This is OUR PLANET! WE DID NOT INVITE THEM HERE!"
"I don't FUCKING care if they were FORCED here, this isn't their planet, and humans shouldn't be punished because there's some fucking government in the sky that keeps sending aliens down here to die!"
"ALL humans are punished. Not ALL aliens are punished. Didn't want to go to jail? Then don't FUCKING COMMIT A DAMN CRIME IT'S THAT SIMPLE."

"Helloo... It's me calling in from before. Not that it matters, haha... Anyways... This is a question to Mr. Wolf. Your main plan involves in killing singularities, but their blood is, like, poisonous? And I've heard that they're quite big, too. What if they fight back? How do you intend in killing them without people losing their lives in the fight?"
Tuxedo spots the opening they've been waiting for. Their body tenses like an animal about to pounce for the kill.
"We will hire those who can fight them. We will gather our weapons, and shoot them down. It's possible, I've seen them fall. We don't nickname them "the soft" for nothing. Their skin splits open even under the bluntest blades!"
"OBJECTION!!!!!!"
"I've always wanted to say that, hehe."

"Your plan is utter nonsense, a fictional fabrication in your mind! Maybe the singularity you killed was simple, but on Timestop island, people beat the singularity back to its containment every week! Bloodied and bruised it slinks back, it looks like it should die and yet singularities heal so quickly, that a near death state returns to fully functioning in little time at all!"
"And that's with a singularity that doesn't fight back. Imagine one that does! Timestop only lacks much death because that prisoner only accidentally tramples people, instead of doing it willingly." Tuxedo fixes their glasses. "Imagine a world where that speeding train of prisoner, willingly took aim at crowds......"
"How would YOUR PLANS stop that?"
"Weew....I'm glad my plan is to just launch a satellite instead of do the impossible." Az says, tugging their shirt.
"...............We'll start with the weaker ones."
"We'll learn. We'll adapt. We'll make better WEAPONS. Humanity lacks the weapons it needs to protect itself. We have only made containment gear. Imagine if we put all that effort into attack gear. We only suffer, because we refuse to advance!"
"No."
"Absolutely not."
"We should not advance in weaponry."
"YOU DENY MAN'S RIGHT TO PROTECT THEMSELVES?"
"I deny man's right to KILL EACH OTHER." Az slams their desk, for the first time showing what appears to be a genuine emotion.
"We are not moon humans!"
"Old history says we are."
Tuxedo looks quite proud of themself. Their job was being done for them.
"You have no hope in mankind!"
"Damn right I don't when it comes to this! A to Z Tech believes mankind should have access to advancement, but it doesn't believe that mankind should ever have weaponry better than a knife. Even all the guns that have been distributed by the Sun for hunting purposes has a limited amount of bullets, and we don't even approve of that!"
"But you know how YOUR weapons are made, just like how A to Z Tech keeps all of its building instructions under lock and key. I don't want a company that could make kill bots operating when the people don't have access to those same weapons! A to Z Tech could take over if they wanted to!"
"The fact that we don't develop weapons, and are instead heading to debates to gain power democratically should be enough."
"A to Z Tech is like a singularity. Keeping information to itself. Telling us we're too stupid to ever have it. Babying us!"
"You know what?"
"Might be something to that, yeah?"
"...I asked the wolf this. But, I thought, maybe the others were thinking of us too. For us in the pens, is it forever..? Is there anything to be done about letting us out? Please?"

"...If not that, can you change it at all? Is that something the president can do?"
"The president can't help you. No one can. You're sick. I know the people are sadden by your state, but to let you out, would be to bring risk to all other humans. If you may, tell the people why you were put in there. I think the people need to hear directly from someone in the pens on why they are not allowed to leave."
"I want to get better. I had a bad time with people before. I got scared. I attacked someone. A couple someones. Not on earth. Different place. B-but I didn't kill anyone. I promise. I promise! I would never. I just- Nobody would tell me how to do it right."
"You murdered people, and you're going to do it again. You were not tossed there in error. No one is."
"You're heartless! She's not going to murder anyone! Nor will I! We don't deserve to be in this place!"

"I trust in Annie. I trust in what people tell me with all their heart. Why don't you?" He snaps back at Tuxedo.
"Because important choices shouldn't be made on feelings alone."
"Well I'm tired of a system that can't trust in its people. I'm tired OF YOU!"

"The other two remaining candidates have been very upfront about their personal histories and how they got into politics. What of you, Tuxedo?"
"I do not bring my personal history to the door when it comes to politics. It's incorrect. I have no history to share, and I was an understudy for other politicians. All that matters about my history is what I bring to the table. I am not seeking to sway voters with my past."

"It's really not worth humoring. All birds are "plants by the Sun." I don't think its inherently bad, but I also do think it's worth reminding the voters about, just like how it's good to remind the voters that I am from the moon."
"This is an over simplification of what we do!"
"It sure is. Just like how "I'm a man from the moon" is an oversimplification of what I am."
"But it's all we can say, when you don't want to share your history, you see?"
"Hi! This is my first and probably my last election, really excited to be here."

"This is a question for all the canidates- For a little context, I was born with a cullable genetic disease and I've been managing the symptoms for most of my life. As much as I've tried to come to terms with it, I want to live, even if it hurts. So- What will you do to support those at risk of being culled, if anything? Thank you!"
"Well is your condition a danger to others?"
"That isn't what we should be asking!"
"I don't think you should be culled. I don't even think you should be nurtured, unlike this bird. I think if a human wants to live in pain and agony for the rest of their life, then who cares? It should be THEIR CHOICE to live in suffering!"
"There are small joys to be found even in terrible pain."
"Personally I think that those living in pain should stay alive, unculled unless they choose not to. We don't have a say in who gets neutered or not, so I won't comment on that. Suffering people can be studied. To remove them is to say, there will never be help, not for you, or everyone like you in the future. That the illness inflicted on you has inherently made you wrong."
"I can't be sick, but I like to see my condition as a sickness of sorts. I think there's always a chance in the future that someone can recover, that a cure can be made."
"Culling prevents a chance for the future of those direly ill recovering."
"A bleak way to look at it. There is no death. The cessation of movement is not the end at all!"
"There is a future past the life of today. No one has to commit to being in pain to live another day."

"And if you do not believe that, that is fine. As I WAS going to say, I do not believe in culling just on manageable chronic pain alone, and nor does the Sun. This is a common misconception. Once a human becomes an adult, they are mainly considered for culling due to the impact they might have on the people around them. Adults are mainly neutered for illnesses to lessen the chance of spreading it to future generations."

"There are only a few illnesses that are culled for, such as old age, the degradation of the mind, extreme pains where medication provides little relief, and illnesses or injuries that cause one to fall and never rise again. Those culled due to more mundane chronic pains are culled with their consent. Asking a man if he wants to be culled because he is in pain is fine!"

"I don't believe you've talked to ANYONE who has ever gotten neutered, or else you would know, they hate the illness that caused this, and they hate the illness, this, beast within them that will infect their children. Those who have the illnesses and already have children worry day and night that their children will grow up with these gene malfunctions!"
"I still don't agree. In the end I think everyone should have the choice to have children. If that gene passes on, then it is something that the children will have to consider and make their own choice on."
"I shall not comment more. I think you've shown all that needs to be shown."
"Hello, Mr. Wolf! My question to you is, do you have any plans against the Sun seperating families, and using 'pedigree' humans for it's own gain?"

"In old history, there existed such a thing as colleges and universities. Parents would send their children to learn in a system that could better teach them skills. Likewise, the sun DOES NOT steal children unless those parents are HARMFUL to their children or themselves!"
"You're a canine. Either you, or your parents made a choice to send you."
"And if they didn't they-"
"We're abusive."
"This is why data is important. I understand for you, it wasn't the best situation. But for most others, this is what they need. Not everyone is going to get out of the education system thinking it was positive. We must focus on the numbers. For MOST it works. For MOST it's a positive event. We have a bias here, being on Earth. We get those who have been ruined tossed back from where they used to work, we hear about the horrors out there."
"But, it is a net positive, we should have more services here for those who need to recover from what happened to them, not close off this path for everyone."
"Actually, on that topic, I was interested in each candidate's position on education. I feel like it might be less "flashy" than big matters like killing the prisoners or building a satellite, but honestly I think these kinds of more mundane topics are more important when it comes to the overall job you'll be doing. As a teacher myself, I feel like the current status quo is alright, but I feel like it might be possible to do more. For instance, would it be possible to bring back those colleges and universities Tuxedo mentioned? And-- Okay I'm being told that's long enough. Back to you all."
"I believe the status quo currently is fine. Education until age 13 to learn the basics, pedigrees pick to go to the sun or not, and wild humans, or pedigrees that refuse go to trade schools, art schools, whatever they want to train at."

"I think required shared education on Earth should continue for longer. 13 is too young for education to end. Old history says that education until 18 years was common."
"Personally, I think even 18 is too young. On the Moon humans went to school until their mid 20s if they weren't sent to war. This is why I believe there's such a difference in Moon humans and Earth humans. I mean, look at me! I'm the best they got, and what was the best humans had when I came down here? It's all refurbished stuff from the Sun, repair work."
"Don't get me wrong, those repair folks were crazy! To have a human work on alien tech with no fear, not even knowing how it works, but figuring out how things connect to each other. There's untapped intelligence in here! I think it would be great to open at least one university to teach about robotics and AI."
"So you can get more people building robots for you."
"Hell yeah!"
"Lets get those AIs in the street doing work for humans!"
"You currently have AIs driving delivery trucks. What do you have to say about the attack years ago, of an AI truck killing a scientist intentionally?"
"Lies and slander. Stop believing everything you hear on the internet."
"That AI didn't attack the scientist "With intent" the person who should have had their eyes on the wheel instead had a teen at the wheel."
"We don't know what happened. I'm just saying it's absolutely possible that teen, without meaning to, slammed their foot into the gas, and the AI, who's vision was blocked trusted the human in the situation."
"Yet again, I'm not casting any blame here. We DON'T know what happened."
"It was just an unfortunate accident."
"Let's keep treating it that way, unless you want to come down from your pen and investigate the situation yourself."
"How many accidents caused by AI can we keep blaming on humans, hmm?"
"I refuse to continue this fantasy argument."
“Hey, I have a question I am hoping won’t lead to disaster but I’d definitely be wanting to hear from Tuxedo at least:

I dont know the most about recent history, because i am a newer arrival, but has the Isle of Self thing not reared its head in terms of danger before? Your campaign is to inform people of the danger, but should they not know by now? Its been there a long time, right?

And i guess if other people here can say their thoughts on the situation…”
"Yes, we have informed the residents many times that they island could kill them, but they continue to go. The issue currently, is that the island has no punishment geared other than total annihilation. As such it is quite a nice peaceful island to live on!"
"It is sort of like the memory fire sticks people like to smoke. The label says "THIS MAY KILL YOU, DANGER" but the people still smoke it, cause it's such a small chance to kill you over time."
"We need more warnings, more delay for them moving. Right now, a person can move from most islands to the island of self in about one week, that, I personally feels, needs to be upped to at least a year!"
"While not having to do any containment duty is a boon that many people like, it is not worth people's lives, and I don't think people are given enough time to think about this."
"This is why we should just kill the singularity. It's a danger, yet it's weak. It's a PERFECT singularity to start with. Instead of restricting the residents because of it, we should instead ask that only those willing to fight the singularity are allowed to move there. Gather a small army, then strike!"
"I've noticed something......"
"Az, why do you never comment on the island of self? You help with containment, yet have not said a SINGLE thing about it."
"Oh uh."

Tuxedo stares at Az, there was clearly something bothering them about the whole affair but they had no evidence for it. It's just that A to Z Tech's selection and "Taming" of singularities seemed......suspiciously targeted.
A frog raises her hand, smiling from the crowd.

"Hi all~ I had a teeensy question for Tuxedo! If people did move away from the Isle of self, should you win and they acknowledge the further announcements of danger you’ve proposed, what do you plan to do for relocation? Would there be an island they would be sent to in the meantime? Are there any long term plans for where to funnel this new group of inhabitants seeking residence?"
"Of course! We have many islands with open housing units open. We would move some of our funding to house showers, movers, and a few more boat drivers to keep immigration off of the island flowing. We don't want to force anyone to a particular island, so we'll first move them to the unused large apartment complex on mining island, and then discuss with them where they would like to move long term."
"The people of mining island will not accept this."
"It's would be temporary. It's for the betterment of the people."
"The people of mining island are already stressed. To impose "non working tourists" on them, will make them riot."
"Huh................."
"My apologies. I did not consider that. I will figure out another location to move them. Thank you for informing me deeper about the issue. I had assumed as long as the people were kept to the apartment complex that the miners would have no issue."
"But I suppose you are right, it takes one event of an overworked population coming into harsh context with slightly upset people in the middle of uprooting their lives for a riot to break out. I will take this into account, and ajust. I picked mining island because it was the closest to the island of self, but we may need to invest in more boat drivers, and move them to further off islands."
"Okay, Wolf, say your plan succeeds, you've somehow killed all prisoners with minimal casualties. What do you do when more prisoners are sent and they're all more dangerous and willing to fight back than the potentially 'benign' previous ones you'd just killed? Won't this have just made the lives of people on those islands worse?"
"We don't stop killing."
"We don't stop biting."
"We'll keep learning to kill them better with each kill. Soon, we'll be killing them as soon as they drop down, not giving them enough time to get used to the world and shove themselves into a defensible corner."
"The "Therapists" and "Wardens" that send the prisoners down here, CLEARLY want them to die. We show them we're up for the task and maybe they'll throw us a bone. If we're going to be nothing but animals to them, I want to nothing but an animal back. No more thinking about prisoner's feelings."
"No prisoner is benign. Their punishment is our punishment. All singularities on Earth MUST die."
"And we already discussed why that'll never work."
"Without developing weapons of mass destruction..........."

"Uhm... Hi! To Ser Wolf, What are your plans with the living inhabitants of the islands beyond 'freedom' if your plans are successful?"
"What we have right now is mostly fine. I aim to allow the government to do what they were already doing, but have a huge push towards singularity elimination."
"Other than that, I think testing more long term education, both in typical education, as well as physical education would be best, allow humans to rely on each other more than on the Sun. Also, adding more courts across the islands, so that large birds will be forced out of their jobs as the justice system."
"Where will the large birds go?"
"Back to the hand that feeds them."
"Ahem."

"...Since you had mentioned furthering education earlier during the debate...Towards the beginning, to be precise..."
"...What exactly are your plans regarding this? For example; Are there any notable topics that you would like to focus effort towards in particular, education-wise, or did you simply mean that statement more generally?"
"Construction. I think we need to learn how construction works, and then teach it to others. When we can build our own houses, we can start separating from the Sun more. We will never be free of its blinding light, but we can attempt to sustain on our own willpower. With all the money we'll save on containment, we can hire some people to figure out how buildings work."
"I abstain from this question as I believe trade schooling and understudying is fine for those over 13, and will make sure to provide them with skills they will use for the rest of their lives. I would prefer the youth travel and become worldly so that they can find their place in the world and train on a subject they truly enjoy."
"I'm getting tired of making toasters and oven. A to Z Tech wants to stop making some products, so they can focus on more important products. So we want more education geared towards the people who are going to make companies that spit out new ovens. Plus, we feel that with more tech companies, knowledge will accurate in sectors we've never considered. Maybe our microwaves suck? We don't know, we don't research better microwaves. Maybe a microwave company can make better microwaves."
"All of your microwaves talk!"
"Just seems natural to me."
"Maybe a microwave company will stop making the microwaves talk."
A dainty looking cat in near pure white skips up to the questioner's podium. He gently taps a claw on the microphone. "Nyo~hello~ Presidential Candidnyates~"
"Ahem~ Inquiring minds wish to ~nyow~ first of all~ which if any of the three of your are ~single" He pops his hip.
"Get that cat off stage."
"Hold on, let him speak."
"And if any of you are would you purrhaps describe your taste in romantic partners~ Maybe you prefer~ ~A Dog~" He pops his hip again.
"Get that cat off stage."
"Never mind I guess."
"Maybe you would prefurrr~ A dashing spider~ An elegant bird~ or maybe even~ He taps his lips
"A delicate~ flexible and available-"
NotailFacts grabs the strange speaking cat. "Ok, that's enough!"
"I know the presidential debate gets men heated but not like this!"
Az looks at his fellows to check if the joke landed.
"................."
"......................................"
"I am officially retracting my last statement."
"..............."
"...Well? NOW EVERYONE is thinking about it."
"Caller, are you making a serious non joking request to know if the candidates are single?"

"......Yes. It will not leave my MIND if I don't."
"But more importantly -- What do you all look for in a partner?"
"Well look, I'm going to humor the people's question. They've all been good sports and asking us serious questions so far. I'm single, but I don't see me meeting someone whose going to accept all of this you know? Even if they do, they'll have to also get along with my daughter."
"What."
"Self replicating machine, don't worry it won't happen again."
"Maybe."
"Legally this is a joke."
"The public will not know my status nor my interest, that is personal."

"...Noting down one of you as a coward..."
"Currently single. All I'm seeking is a little bit of patience."
"Woah, you're into opposites attracts. I see you big dog."
"Hello. I'm calling in to ask what your stances are on having peaceful aliens around. Are you for or against having them mingle with the human populace?"
"I personally believe that if peaceful aliens, that are considered on the same intelligence level as humans, are dropped on this planet, then it is not their fault. We should not harm them....not turn them into cigarettes......or abuse them unless they harm us. Simple as that. The abuse that completely mundane and harmless aliens suffer on the daily biases is incorrect. I understand the hostility against singularities....but.....must we "roll and smoke" memory fire trees?"
"Kill them or throw them out. I don't care. Just get them out of here. Earth is for humans. I don't want aliens looking for the same rights as us on our planet."
"I think aliens can help or hurt. I think some aliens really don't want to be here. They don't intend to hurt us, but their culture is so different that hurting us is helping us. I hope that in the future, once we can send things out to space, maybe we can help aliens escape this place. I don't think being rude to them is helpful. They wouldn't be here if they had a choice. Obviously there's nothing we can do about aliens who hurt us without thinking except for take them out, but one day, I hope we can send them home."
"Tux, may I ask then what your plan is for cats who are simply made to hunt and kill aliens? Would you intend to have them retire, find work off-world, or perhaps only hunt violent ones?"

"Yes! Cats should not hunt peaceful aliens. They're not doing anything. I would understand if a singularity asked for culling on another world, and I understand when cats murder violent ones on Earth, but the MURDER.... and it IS MURDER, they are people....is firmly wrong! Humans have become friends with aliens, some of them even work alongside humans. When cats murder them jobs are interrupted, and found family and friends mourn just as if they were human. It is cruel for cats to kill peaceful aliens. Retirement is not failure! Many retired eagles go to Timestop island to retire, and none of them I would call failures."
"And with that being said, would you intend to punish cats who decide to kill peaceful aliens, despite the Sun seeing no issue with such a thing?"
"I think they need to be detained, and at least informed that on Earth, culture surrounding peaceful aliens are different. The Sun wants all the peaceful aliens gone because they are invasive-"
"And you disagree with the Sun?"
"Unlike the COMMON MISCONCEPTION that all birds mindlessly and brainlessly follow the Sun, that is NOT true! We do sometimes disagree, that is why opening a conversation with the Sun sometimes is important, even if it is hard to do."
"I hope the Sun will one day ban the murder of peaceful aliens, to call them invasive is....demeaning.......They are people with lives and family, and if they want to be here, or back home, we should accept them as long as they understand that we too, are like them."
Boe comes up last to the stage. "I want to ask, what will you all do about the issues on mining island? So much of your ideas and policies depend on mining island providing more metal and supplies, but there's no mention of how you all plan to help."

"Well, I have to correct my plans of moving residents of another island there....so I will need to think about this."
"The fact you didn't know is worrying to me as you are currently president."
"I heard the singularity at the island was already weakened. We'll kill it, allowing the people of the island some peace. That should make work easier."

"You're wrong and uneducated about the island as much as Tuxedo! The singularity at the island helps mine the metal. If you kill it, then metal production will drop! I....I can't believe this! Our candidates know NOTHING of the woes of an island they depend so much on!"
"The humans and the singularity are....working with it?"
Az smiles, glad they talked to Boe about the issue. "Well, if I come into office, I plan on enacting a buyout of ships. No one is going to be forced to sell their ships, but it'll be an option, no questions asked. It'll take ships out of the water, get metal to places it needs to be, ease up on some of the long labor cycles on the island for at least a bit."
"I stole this idea from Boe."
Boe knew that Az had planned for this, she had hopped that the other candidates would have a better plan to tell her, but when she got the opposite, she could only accept that Az was the only thing that would lighten the load just a bit for the workers. "I see...that is all I wanted to ask."
"Looks like the debate is over!!!!! Folks, start heading to the ballots and submitting your votes! We'll see you later with the winners!"
Backstage......
[Half Life 2: Distorted Trumpets]
Az approaches the Big Bad Wolf. "You want that singularity on the island of self dead, right?"
"...........It's the main one I want dead...yes."
"Let keep this hush hush, ok? I got something in mind, and you got some crazy followers of your party that would say.....break into a singularity containment and kill it right?" The Big Bad Wolf says nothing.
"Well, look, as long as you, or I win, let's make a deal."

"You get your people to hold down that singularity, and I'll do something worse than murder it."
No one is typing.
